| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Draft at Pub in Ida Noyes. Clear copper with thick, creamy off-white head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit, but fruity and not too sharp. Flavor is wonderful, grapefruity, floral, and balanced with caramelly malts in the middle. Very long, interesting flavor profile. Mouth feel is incredible, creamy and rich with the perfect amount of carbonation. There is no unpleasant aftertaste. This beer is rich and interesting, but also makes a great session brew. One of my all time favorites, and the benchmark for all other APAs. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Copper to amber in color the beer poured a 1/2" tight head that dissipated slowly. The nose was filled with piney hops followed by a bit of grapefruit, spice and caramel. These flavors cointinue into the mouth which was concentrated and had good weight though remained light on its feet. The midpalate had richness and sweetness to it which gradually turned dry toward the finish. This is a really well made beer that I could drink all of the time. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Possibly because of its "cult" status, I think I expected more from this beer than what I experienced. Opening it kind of reminded me of Christmas without the Red Rider BB Gun...just not as satisfying as I would have liked. All of the flavors that I expected were there (citrus, pine, and floral notes) but the balance was missing. Overall, good beer but not great. Tilley4 (218), Huron, Tennessee, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Easily, and I mean EASILY, one of the best session beers ever. If I could get this, I could literally drink it all day.
Beautiful copper color with a very small head and some decent carbonation.
Smells faintly hoppy with a nice solid maltiness to it.
The hops are actually pretty subtle in this...at first. It’s on the finish when they really shine through. They really seem to take off on the finish and linger around for a long, long time... very well done.
If I could get this beer here, all the other session beers that I have would instantly be traded for more of this. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a orangish yellow color with a thinnish white head that leaves just a little lace on the glass. Smells citrusy with a hint of malt in the background. I get kind of a dark hop citrus smell up front. Big taste to this brew. Hoppy and malty and citrusy all at once. Thin and bitter crisp with a good carbonation. Very, very drinkable and good. I would drink alot of this if it was around, plus it is 6% so its worth your while. franksnbeans (265), Columbus, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Pours a burned orange with a nice sized off white head that laces. Smells of citrus rind, floral, hops and a malt. Lots of yummy bitter hops with an awesome malt balance. Nice bite and dryness but doesnt linger on the tongue. This reminds me of Nugget Nectar. Feels smooth, crisp and delicious in the mouth. Drinkability goes on and on. A session beer classic. Cheers 3 F’s.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 28, 2007 Updated: Jan 19, 2008Bottle. Copper bronze color. No head. Light carbonation. Hazy. Citrusy sweet candied fruit hints. Inviting yet not too straightforward. Medium body. Clear, pure flavoring that splits like a fork in the road in the mouth: berry, alcohol, faintly sugary combo to the roof of the mouth with a buttery bitterness on the tongue. Solid offering though the bitterness is a little too salty for my tastes ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Bottle. via trade with drewbeerme. Amber/ caramel colored pour with an ivory head that leaves heavy lacing. Citrusy hop aroma with a good deal of caramel notes. Straight forward and bitter with a slight caramel and crystal malt backbone. Lemon and grapefruit notes with a bit of grass and some straw. Very fruity. This is definitely a hop lovers Pale Ale.
