sleestak (94), Williamston, Michigan, USA Jul 14, 2008 On tap. Copper pour with a big white head that quickly faded into sticky lacing. Hops dominated the aroma - mostly pine. Taste is mega hoppy (pine with some grapefruit) with a lingering bitter finish. Lingering, as in near-eternal. Mouthfeel is resinous and thick with good carbonation. An excellent beer, but a little extreme to be a true session brew.
DSG (997), Yuvalim, Israel Nov 28, 2008 (10/14/08) Draught at the brewpub in Munster. Clear amber color. Aroma of citrus hops with flowers and some malt in the background. Sweetish flavor, slightly caramelly with light biscuit hints. Continues hoppy and bitter with some grapefruit. Rounded mouthfeel. Good stuff. 502Flavors (345), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Nov 27, 2008 On tap at rich O’s. Crystal clear amber pour. Beautiful floral hops that’s like nothing I have ever really experienced. There is virtually no hop bitterness, just all hop flavor. very impressive. DragonsHead (118), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2008 Hadn’t had this beer in awhile, and boy did I miss it!! Had a bottle recently, compliments of Mark. Poured a beautiful orangish amber. Big hop aromas from the start, then it mellowed as it got a chance to breath. Big time citrus hops is the first thing to come to mind. It’s like you’ve been thrown into a pit of hops and grapefruit. The finish lasts, but you wish it would last longer. Never a bad beer from three floyds. Dmalone102 (114), Denver, Colorado, USA Nov 20, 2008 My mom Brought this to me from Indiana at my request. I did think it was good, with a complex hop-flavor profile and a fantastic hop aroma. Grapefruit and pine were the dominant aromas. I didn’t think there was a great balance, the malt was not very perceptible. In my oppinion, a pale ale should have a little more balance. It had a nice light amber color to it also. puggy211 (369), cordova, Tennessee, USA Nov 20, 2008 Poured an amber brown with two fingers of head that did not have very good retention. The aroma is of citrus and hops. The taste begins with sweet malts and then transitions into a bitter grapefruit hop flavor. This is a very well balanced beer.
