I had to take a break from the DL, so this seemed lighter than it really was I am sure. Still at such a high ABV I had to take it slow. Too sweet for my taste, and I knew that going in, but I figured when in Rome... BuckeyeSammy (455), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Was surprised at just how thick this beer was. At 13% I was impressed at how well hidden the alcohol was. Dark fruits very present. Downfall may be the syrupy thickness. Hints of spice and fruit lurking behind the warming alcohol taste. The aroma and appearance are very deciving with this beer. Did not expect to like it, but was quite suprised with it. Good beer I would recommend this one. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA

Sweet aromas of bananas and caramel malts dominate the aroma. Flavor is of bananas, spices with hints of clove. Alcohol is obvious, but not overpowering. Leaves you with a nice warm feeling! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Tasted 3/25/08. 22oz bomber. Seems filtered with a bright ruby amber hue. Trace off-white head. Fruity aromas intermixed with a potent alcohol burn. Red fruit. Just a hair below room temperature. Full bodied and so sweet. Flavors of apples and pears. Raisins and toffee. Port and warming. Huge alcohol presence. Slightly astringent. Whole lot going on. Huge beer, I just wished it was blanded a little easier. Meant for sharing. LeMunche (66), Orland Park, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2008 This beer was just a little too much. Too sweet and too much alcohol. The alcohol is hidden well because of the suger, but you sure do feel it after finishing off a bomber. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
