Jan 19, 2008 Very small off-white rim over amberish, clear ale. Almonds, smoked ham, undefinable spices, medicine-acetone, definitely some ketone. Marzipan again in the taste, aldehyde/ketone, if less pronounced. Despite 1 year of aging, beer poorly balanced, and very discreetly hopped. Liqueurish, some taster spoke of Mandarine Napoléon. Sticky, even very sticky texture, very well-bodied, to the point of being too syrupy. Way too sweet for my taste. How could one call a beer "Alpha something", if the hops added are so discreet? Jan 19, 2008 Draft at brewpub. Poured reddish/brown color with an average light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Very complex bubblegum, caramel and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Full complex spicy sweet flavor with solid fruity sweet finish and a small bite of alcohol. Very good standout brew.

Jan 18, 2008 Bottle courtesy of my brother. Poured a fairly clear, rich orange color. Aroma is sweet with some candy sugar, banana and caramel. Flavor had some good sweet candy sugar. Some good bubblegum and clove elements. The alcohol was a bit detracting in the aroma, but not the flavor. Well hidden. Very good, if lacking some complexity.

Jan 18, 2008 Bottle, courtesy of alexanderj. Opaque orange pour with almost no head. Aroma is sweet and malty, with some banana, and acid. Strong malty flavor, very sweet, with banana and some prunes. Pretty good flavor overall.

Jan 11, 2008 Cloudy caramel colored pour with a scant off white covering. Nose is a bunch of bubblegum. Medium mouthfeel, a bit sticky, actively carbonated. Flavor is more bubblegum, some clove, sweet finish.

Jan 10, 2008 Lumpfest 2008- Burnt orange color, peachy-candy nose. Upfront sweetness with a slap of tartness. No apparent alcohol. Very little carbonation. Really overtly sweet.

Jan 8, 2008 Bomber bought @ FFF in Munster. This is an unreal beer, extremely pungent and sweet, you feel the burn from the alcohol... tasted twice wiht consistently disappointing results.

Jan 7, 2008 Updated: Jan 8, 2008Thanks to BBB63 for the bomber. Mostly clear orange with a small head. Aroma of caramel, bubblegum, cherries, bananas and alcohol. Very sweet and spicy (hops) and tanginess, syrupy texture. Some fruit in there as well with some amazing warmth. Get a little alcoholic as it warms. I prefer it cold. Chewy, medium/full body.
