LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Oct 24, 2008 On tap at Great Taste Of The Midwest. Pours a nice amber color with a nice whiteish head.Great aromas of citrus.pine and caramel malts.Taste is equal to aroma.Nice medium body to it as well. Nicley balanced.Great hoppy/bitter finish. One of my favorites of the festival. TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 20, 2008 Draft at Rich O’s Lupulin Land Festival - Pours a hazy yellowish gold. Huge head, but not many bubbles. Aroma is great. Citrus all over the place. Palate is dissapointing. MUCH thinner than I expected. Not much character at all, and the finish is far too quick. One of the first FFF beers that I have been truly disappointed in. Not even sure if I would call what I had an IPA. Closer to their Pride and Joy with a little bit more hop bite. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 18, 2008 Tap at Great Taste. Golden amber color. Smell of grapefruit, pine, grass. caramel, hops, malt, citrus peal, orange and spicy notes. Taste of grapefruit, pine, grass. caramel, hops, malt, citrus peal, orange and spice. This was my first beer at the Great Taste! One of my Favorite. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2008 This was a good and very drinkable beer just a little lighter then the 2004 version but overall very tasty with hints of citrus and spicy floral flavors poured a hazy yellowish looking with a slight white head. This is a very smooth beer and should stay a regular.CHEERS! vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 23, 2008 GTMW 08 - Pours clear golden with a light white head. The aroma has grapefruit, citrus and dank hops balanced with sturdy caramel malt. Medium body with light semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with piny citric hops, smooth malt, resin and overall smoothness. The finish brings in tropical hops and sweet malt. This is a great beer I could drink all day long. Philip (436), Illinois, USA Aug 18, 2008 On tap at Three Floyds. Reminded me a quite a bit of Devil Dancer, and I think I’d go with Imperial IPA as the style more than American Strong Ale. Notes of citrus and caramel lead into a spruce, grapefruit, some orange, hay, and a touch of spice. The menu read 6%, which I thought low, but still more likely than the 10% we have year. My overall reaction was that this was good, albeit very overrated here on the site. I found it to be not nearly as complex as Devil Dancer other high quality IIPAs. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 on tap at GTMW ’08. pours slightly hazed golden with white head. nose of peaches, mango, grapefruit. smells a lot like dreadnaught. really hoppy ipa, peach, mango, grapefruit, pine, extremely refreshing, the alpha king malt profile hops up nicely to dreadnaught hop profile. one of the best FFF beers I’ve had in a long time. hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA Aug 16, 2008 So it is 6% or 10%? I guess we will never know. The draft pour came in an 8 oz glass a dark golden color with small white head and light lacing. Powerful nose of piney hops and some caramel malts. The mouthfeell was rich and slick, and it went down very smoothly. Flavor is mostly citrus hops, with a hint of fruit and spices. The finish is bitter. Love this beer.
