Commercial Description:
This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” 100 IBU 9.5%ABV

Pours a dark clear dark copper colour with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, hops, mango. Flavour of hops, grapefruit, citrus, mango and a bit of lactose. Good hoppy beer.

22 oz bomber courtesy of the beerapprentice. Pours a clear orange vistalite with a medium white head. Perfumy aroma of grapefruit citrus, floral tones, piney hops and tropical fruit. Taste of grapefruit, papaya, mango, pine and bitter hops. Slight malt flavor. Another gem from 3 Floyds.

bottle from O’Donnell’s in Ft Wayne, draft from Trion in New Haven, IN - Copper pour with some light haze and a small white head. It has a big citrus hops aroma with ample grapefruit presence. The flavor is of course big on the hops and they’re great quality hops. The balance is excellent for the style as the malt and lactose smooth it out. I was skeptical reading the label, but the lactose sugar is definitely noticeable as this beer warms and works really well. Full bodied with easy going carbonation, this brew finishes crisp and bitter. Excellent!

Golden amber into tulip. Smells of citrus rind, grapefruit, caramel malt. Beautiful foamy off-white crown. First sip: Holy $hxT! 100 IBUs backed up. Mouth is semi oily. Fruity citrus hop bomb. And a good one. Lactose adds a nice creaminess. Though very astringent, a hop heads dream. ABV, bitter and drinkability could make this a repeat, if not for the cost and limited run.

Bottle from st.fun. Thanks josh! I new from the minute I popped the top that this one was gonna be good. Huge floral hop aroma filled the room. Despite the huge floral, citrus, resiny hop flavor, the lactose adds a nice creamy sweetness and complexity not noted in your average iipa. Very good and very fresh.

Amber pour with a white head. Aroma of fruity hops, somewhat like pineapple. Nice hoppy ale- creamy, has a bit of a bite. It leaves a nice hoppy, malt flavor. Nice lacing.

Three Floyds does it again! Aromas of peach, mango, pine and big caramel malts mix with a unusual sweet smell. flavors of caramel and toffee blend with an some intense hops. Its very sweet for an IPA and almost reminds me of a barleywine. The lactose sugar gives the beer a certain "creaminess" and really drags the hops across your tongue. Its got an unusual mouthfeel to it....like a hop milkshake. Reminds me of the Dreadnaught!! Check it out!!
