A small amount of hop aroma that sticks around. Sweet flavors of rich candied sugar. Tasty no doubt. Teege (105), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bomber courtesy of dchmela. Great label. Pours a nice golden orange color. Has a piny nose combined with a rich buttery candy aroma. The beer is smooth, creamy, and bitter in the finish with notes of grapefruit and Wurther’s Originals. Adding the milk sugars is an interesting idea but makes the beer really bizarre. I would maybe have to try this a couple more times to really get my head around it. cmillward (434), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Bomber shared kindly by dchmela. Pours husky golden with some slight lace. Overall very sweet with hoppy orange citrus all over the place. Bitterness is backgrounded by the slick lactose body and marshmallow sweetness. Not for me. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 2, 2009 22 oz bottle. Cloudy yellow brown with a dense white head. Lots of lacy patches. Nose is pine and orange with hints of caramel and creme. Kind of a thin milkshake with resin and buzzy carb. Taste is toasty orange, toffee and pine. Touches of marshmallow and eucalyptus. A good dose of hops almost offsets the sticky sweetness. Odd to say the least. Brigadier (1243), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Picked up a few weeks ago in Madison this was my only acquisition because of limited space. Well kept in the meantime it was fabulous; perhaps I will snag another bottle and open it immediately rather than inadvertently letting it sit for a month. Still it had plenty of depth and promise - this is almost on par with the flagship Dreadnaught.
Aroma / Appearance - The gaudy offwhite head is sharp and bright. Under was a cloudy orange liquid which released mango, floral hops, caramel, and other tropical aspects. It felt like being on a warm beach rather than a cold Ohio evening.
Flavor / Palate - Grapefruit was the main player but coupled with hoppy caramel and lactose it has an unusual character. With being over the top it is definitely a well thought out release. Only at the end does the booziness really begin to pick up; the first glass was easier to finish. hopdog (5591), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a medium and clear amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, pine, citrus, and some caramel. Tastes of citrus, caramel, pineapple, fruity, and pine. There was something a little different about this too, was it the lactose milk sugar? Definitely a little on the sweet side. Lighter alcohol in the finish. Another cool lablel from Three Floyds... bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Bottle thanks to dchmela. Has a really strong syrupy hoppy smell. Really citrusy. Feel is very syrupy as well, I’m guessing from the lactose. Tastes hoppy and sweet, but doesn’t bite like most IIPAs I’ve had. Very Nice!
