Commercial Description:
This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” 100 IBU 9.5%ABV

After having twice now I still couldn’t really pick out lactose but maybe it aided the nice velvety body. Aroma of very big hops, citrus and some pine to balance the sweet creamy body.. Pretty mellow for 9.5%

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop and malt aroma. Medium body with slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

Bottle thanks to St.Fun. Pours with a hazed orange body and a creamy, off-white head. Aroma is perfumery, with tons of floral-flower notes, citrus, some honey and dough. Taste is bready, and sweet in an odd, coffee-creamer sort of way. Some lemon citrus, but really light hops for a DIPA. Creamy mouthfeel.

from 22oz bomber. poured copper in color with a small white head that left little lacing on the taster glass. Aroma of floral, resiny hops, grapefruit, and light caramel. Mouth feel is very smooth and creamy, which works well with this one. Tastes of citrus and piney hops, sweet malt. Very nice. I really enjoyed this and could have drank a ton of it.

Bottle... Poured clear orange with a white head. Smooth, foamy palate. Sweet, bread-like grains and a hop balance. Alcohol warmth in the finish.

22 oz bomber. Came into this not having the slightest idea as to what to expect, but I am intrigued. Pours an opaque copper color with very little head. Smells of citrus, hops (typical IPA smells), plus the most unusual sweet cream sugary smell. Quite interesting. In tasting it, the first thing you notice is that it is THICK. It reminded me of the consistency of milk. Flavors of citrus and sweet cream flood your mouth, with a nice hop bite to it. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for something completely different.

Gotten in a trade as part of BIF Race ’09, this double IPA poured clear bodied, had a glowing orange color, and displayed lively carbonation and formed a small but stable head. The aroma of this beer was the most earthy-floral hop smell I’ve ever experienced, The floral quality was further enhanced by the honey like swell of the malt. The taste was sweet-spicy, and was propelled by hops, just as any good DIPA should be. The beer was creamy in the mouth, with the carbonation assisting in this department big time. A spicy aftertaste and warm burn finished things off. Many thanks for BA alleykatking for the opportunity to try this.

From bomber...pours deep orange/golden color with a 1/2 finger off-white head. Aroma is incredibly citrusy and bursting with orange and lemon aromas. Also has a yeasty/bready and bitter aroma in the background. Flavor is pretty darn good...a creamy mix of malt, citrus hops (again, oranges abound), resiny hops and yeast. Milky and creamy on the palate, yet strongly bitter near the end. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would...not super clean, but very bold and smooth.
