Commercial Description:
This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” 100 IBU 9.5%ABV

Bottle: A hazy light copper pour with a small beige head. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy, and sweet. Tastes sweet and syrupy with hop resin and citrus. Light malty backbone. Soft, wet finish with lingering bitters. Not over the top like I’d expect from FFF, but enjoyable and overall quite drinkable. Thanks Adam!

Bottle form BeerBunker! Thanks man! This one has a nose that has noticeable sugary sweetness as well as notes of floral hops, oranges, and grapefruit. Pours a nice orange tone with a fantastic head. Sweet initially followed by fruity flavors, and a good strong citrus finish. Also a hint of warming alcohol. Rather high carbonation. Smooth and creamy mouth feel. A little too sweet throughout, but the hop notes were pleasant.

Pours a hazy orange. Thick, rich, white head. Creamy and leaves strong lacing. Similar nose to Dreadnaught, although more citrusy and less piney. Orange, light malt, and yeast on the nose. Interesting flavor. Citrus and sweet. Creamy mouth feel with high carbonation. Very interesting beer. Still not in the same class as Dreadnaught though.

Bottle at BCTC 2009: Golden pour with an off white film of head. Very piny aroma- pine bomb with twiggy vegetal. Slick astringent vegetal flavor. Heavy pine with a citric twang and heavy herbaceous twiggy vegetal. Eh.

Bottle at BCTC. Pours a light hazy amber with a thin white head. Big citrus and pineapple notes. Flavors are slightly reminiscent of the ocean, which is a touch puzzling. Finishes with a big hefty bitterness.

#78 for this beer. 22oz bottle. Slightly hazy dark gold with some faint hints of orange color in there. The head was slightly off-white that was very clingy, lots of lacing. Lots of citrus, almost like pure zest citrus, very floral as well, nice. Light bitterness, more grapefruit, very smooth, the lactose gives this a very different flavor, again quite smooth, milky smooth I guess you could say, not bad, just strange.

Pours orange with a small white head. Aroma is all pine. The flavor is sweet, citrus, and floral with a nice sweet malt and lactose backing. Very easy to drink for a DIPA.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is sweet with a strong hops pressence. Notes of citrus, grass, pine, and honey jump out. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy, really drinkable. The finish is nice and bitter. Different than what I would have imagined, but very good. It really grew on me as it went down.
