Aroma is incredibly citrusy and bursting with orange and lemon aromas. Also has a yeasty/bready and bitter aroma in the background. Flavor is pretty darn good...a creamy mix of malt, citrus hops (again, oranges abound), resiny hops and yeast. Milky and creamy on the palate, yet strongly bitter near the end. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would...not super clean, but very bold and smooth.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2009 [Bottle] This is really an interesting and unique beer. Pours a hazy orange with a smallish khaki head that leaves a touch of lacing. Aroma is citric and resinous hops, and some definite underlying sweetness. The flavor is really the different part. If I didn’t already know this had lactose I wouldn’t have guessed, but it doesn’t really add any sweetness, except just a hair on the finish. The citric and resinous hops linger long after the finish. There’s also an interesting play between the coarseness of the hops and the smoothness of the lactose that I haven’t seen in any other beer. I didn’t have high expectations for this one going into it, but I’m pretty impressed. timbeer (57), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA

Pours a hazy orange color that has a mild head that doesn’t last too long. What is there has some lacing. Lots of sweetness and citrus hoppiness on the nose that follows through to the taste. Sweet start and a bitter finish. Smooth and full bodied. A decent variation of a double-IPA. kiefdog (1631), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2009 In short: A sweet and well hopped fruity IPA. Very good.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed relatively fresh a month or two after receiving it from Shawn213. Thanks a lot Shawn
The look: Almost clear dark golden body topped by a very small off-white head
In long: Nice highly aromatic hoppy nose, mainly citrus fruits. Sweet honey/caramel malts well balanced by a lot of citrusy hops with some pine-cone and tropical fruits notes. Very juicy. Medium bitterness. A bit reminiscent of a Dreadnaught Light but with a little less focus on the citrus fruits. Need another bottle of this cause this was too late in a tasting session. But a footnote in the Book of Revelation states that after bringing chaos and destruction to mankind the Four Horsemen shall celebrate with some mighty fine burgers.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 2 22 oz bombers acquired via two different trades. This beer comes out a very dark orange with a thick and creamy white head and awesome lacing. Aroma is mostly hops, but what a plethora of hop aromas it is! Starts out with pine and grapefruit, but a deeper whiff reveals pineapple and orange lurking beneath them. There is also a mild lactic smell, but it’s buried in the mix. The flavor is huge pine and citrus hops with more of the lactic presence here, and in a slightly thicker mouthfeel than you’d expect from the style. I was a little skeptical of this beer because I wasn’t sure how the lactose would work in an IPA, but this was a standout and yet another thing I’ve very much enjoyed from FFF. Good aroma of pine and citrus. Taste is the same, lots of citrus and a big pine taste. Light fruitiness. Well balanced. Clean and crisp. Easy to drink for a 9.5% beer. Overall, I could drink this all the time...A good DIPA with probably the coolest beer label of all time. egajdzis (3631), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
