Hmmm... I wonder why this is listed as a European Strong Lager? Sure looks like a Heller Bock, a brownish orange body with a substantial off-white head. The aroma is light, some sweet malts with a touch of caramel. Same with the flavor with the addition of some earthy, herbal bitterness to cut the sweetness. A bit watery, but quite quaffable.

On tap at the brewpub. Very light aroma of malts. Dark golden brown body. Medium palate. Caramel sweetness up front with a nice hint of alcohol. Good flavor.

This was allright the problem was probably that it was stuck surrounded by much better beers. Poured a med reddich brown. Had a nice malty flavor and aroma. Not bad but not very exciting beer overall.

Tap at brewery: Bronze and amber hued with a small fading head an some lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, plum, juniper berry, candi sugar, and grassy hops. The taste starts fruity and sweet, lots of caramelized malting before a peppery and herbal finish. Some mild bitterness rounds off the palate. The mouth feel is soft and smooth. A good use of noble hops but a tad too sweet IMO.
