Slightly stronger bourbon in the aroma than I was expecting but it mixes well with the creamy milk chocolate malts and roasted notes, so it works. It was served with a light creamy chocolate head, a syrupy looking consistency, and crimson-dark black/brown in color. There’s a nice kick of bourbon throughout in the flavor, but it does not overpower. This actually helped balance out the sweetness pretty well which I enjoyed. There was also a good amount of roasted malts and cream, chocolate dessert drink, and mild bitter undertones. Quite enjoyable, I was happy to have tried this version. tomthompson89 (1488), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 21, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with a finger-width, brown, creamy head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of creamy lacing. Aroma is rich chocolate, wood, vanilla, and bourbon with a light roast still remaining. Flavor is rich with a real nice balancing woody bourbon. Maintains the sweet marshmallow, fluffy chocolate taste like the original which I loved so much. As this warms, it stays sweet while the bourbon wood does a real nice job keeping the milky sweetness in check. A light vanilla and roast accompany the rest of the flavors to create a very tasty balanced blend of everything. Milky chocolate, light flowery, even bourbon aftertaste that lasts for a long time. Finishes dry and medium bodied with a flat carbonation. Overall, damn impressive with lots of depth to it. I really liked the original, but this one may take the cake because of the wonderful balance. awiseman01 (358), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2009 On Tap at FFF Brewpub. Pours pitch black with a dark tan head. Nose is chocolate roasted malt and minimal bourbon...that is until you taste it. Once this saturates the tongue, the bourbon becomes much more pronounced along with the same tastes that make Moloko excellent. Good change up, a little bourbon heavy for me...I would reach for the regular Moloko first. FlssmrBrewAlum (1148), Lisle, Illinois, USA

Goblet served on tap at the brewpub (Munster, IN). Pours a pitchblack thick pour, small brown head, not to dark, dies to a film that clings to the glass and laces fairly well. Aromas are a good dosage of Woodford, a barrel I’ve become very familiar with from Flossmoor, oak and bourbon blend well with sweet creaminess, chocolate, and a bit subdued roasted malts underneath. Vanilla ia prominent, as this brew excites the senses. Initial lends a delicate stout, sweetness greets the mouth as vanilla, oak, and bourbon blend well. The barrel kisses this brew instead of humping it to death. A bit of chocolate, roast, and prominent vanilla with a touch of bitter coffee in the body as the oak gives way to the real base beer. This beer is a prime example of barrelling a lighter brew without killing it. Finish is vanilla, oak, a touch of warming bourbon, as this beer melts away and a bit of lactose sticks to the palate. A formidible BA Sweet Stout. Cheers. deyholla (703), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2009 On tap at Three Floyds. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma was sweet with a strong presence of bourbon. Flavor began full of alcohol and bourbon notes but sweet notes crept in throughout. inkubus27 (250), Highland, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Tap at 3F...pours jet black, has a mildly viscous body with just about no head. Aroma is pure bourbon and some hints of oak. Flavor is bourbon up front, but it dies off and doesn’t overpower.. you get a bit of the oak in the flavor and some roast and chocolate malt. Palate is pretty clean for being a barrel aged beer.
