Commercial Description:
Dry and surprisingly light-bodied. Malty sweetness and caramel flavors shift to distinctive dry-roasted malt notes.

Tasted blind at Sk8vikings amazing Porter/Stout tasting - Black body, light brown head, some laces; IPA like nose (if I was blind I would guess this to be an IIPA). Pine, sweet flowers, far behind it soft coffee, soft chocolate and soft licorice; Very soft velvet like body with balance and a little bitterness; Into medium long bitter, dry, flowery, hoppy finish with complexity, depth and everything, the only thing it lacks is a bit of balance within each elements and between nose, body and finish.

Bottle. Pitch black colour with a nice head. Hoppy aroma with notes of roastedness and citrus. Very tasty flavour of hops, roastedness and coffee. Ends up very nice and easy to drink.

Deep dark blackness like an overused metaphor involving a troubled soul. Opaqueness breaks only at the very bottom of the glass, only when held against a lamp. Sorry--I got tough standards when it comes to stout pours. No five for you! The scent, however, is stout dry stout perfection. HOPS. Roasted malt. Dear god this is bittersweet tastiness all perfectly cooked and melted down. Taste transfers over. Yummy yum yum. Big warm hops welcome you in, very dry, backed up by almost-as-strong dry, roasted bitter stout malts. These give way to a very smoky middle, but it’s a unique smoke. Not meaty or chessy. It tastes like stout grains being smoked. Wonderful. All this ends on an inexplicably sweet malt finish. This is one of my very favorite beers. Grab this if you can find it. It makes life worth living.

Saw this the other day at the store and decided I needed to have it. Beautiful pour and auroma. robust flavor with a hint of coffee to it. Nat a bad beer at all.

Thanks to px2grafx. Black pour with a small tan head, decent to blah lacing. Aroma is all the dark stuff.. roast, coffee and chocolate with caramel too. Also a hop presence here too... grapefruity maybe? Loads of fruit with chocolate and caramel in the finish. The roast is bitter just like the Alpha Klaus. This beer really grew on me as I finished the bottle. At first it was good, but it kept getting better. The flavor started off at about a 6 and ended at an 8, so I chose 7. I really liked the mouthfeel and lingering finish.

(Blind rating at sk8viking’s.) Pours black. Smells of amarillo (I think?) - nice. Mild sourness. Very hoppy, otherwise rather mellow aromas of caramel and coffee. Nice with the amarillo (?) but it´s not quite mixable with the burnt malt aromas in this stout. Low carbonation. Would have enjoyed this hops profile more in an IPA.
