22oz bottle, no date from heemer77, thanks Eric! Hazy dark golden with a one finger creamy off-white head, fading to a thin film before long. Pineapple and grapefruit citrus up front with plenty of biscuit and caramel to back it all up. Flavor is a bit resiny with plenty of fruity hops. Knowing that it’s been touched by oak, I can pick it out (new oak), but if I hadn’t known, I can’t say that I’d be able to pick it out. Dry finish with some warming alcohol and bitterness peaking around a 6. Burps a bit of pine. Creamy full body with some light to moderate prickly carbonation--many adjectives there. Aroma has a good amount more oak closer to room temperature. Definitely a bit different--it gets an extra point or two for that, and as I get further down the bomber, I like this quite a bit.

On tap at brewpub. This was something unexpected and delightful. Slightly hazy amber with a perfectly white head and good lacing. The aroma sets it apart from other IPA’s. Hops, of course, resin and earthy but with a spicy yeast making this very different. Flavor is a short lived sweetness then bitter throughout. Very drinkable and very different. Love it.

Bottle. Pour is an orangish copper with a frothy white head and aromas of citrus (pineapple and grapefruit), sweet malt and grass(?). Flavor is wonderful... the thing starts off with a heavy malt presence that is sweet and full bodied (although there is always a nip of pine in the air right before the sip). Following the malt, the transition to a hops finish is smooth as silk, and the hops presence builds to a crescendo slowly, rather than the punch in the face of so many IPA’s. The alcohol is detectable... a little bit of warmth and a little bit of a sensation thing, but it doesn’t affect the taste at all.

Another winner from Three Floyds. Orange body with a big whitish head. Aroma of citrus with some surprising bready notes. Flavor is full, and sweeter than I expected, but not cloying at all. Hoppiness is quite present, but not as biting as in many American IPAs. Smooth palate - can’t much taste the alcohol, but I can tell it’s there. Very nice beer.

22 oz bottle: poured orange with a large, light beige head. Big malty aroma with notes of caramel and slight hops. Flavor is very malty, rich, light citrus notes and hops. Full flavored with a mildly bitter inish. Good.

Golden color. Smell of hops, citrus, grass, caramel, brown sugar, malt and bread. Taste of hops, citrus, grass, caramel, brown sugar, malt, bread and flowers. Like always, a nice amount of hops. One of the better English Pale Ales!

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours clear deep gold with off white head. The aroma is nice and malty with caramel, roasted malts, some wood with hints of grapefruit. Very cool smelling aroma. The taste is much the same with some maltiness and caramel to go along with moderate pine and grapefruit hop bitterness and juiciness. I also get a note of vanilla. Yep, yummy.

Mix between the tepid English IPA and the American hopped up IPA. No musty taste from the standard English. But overall nice mellow, yet hopped taste.
