Pours orange to amber with cloudiness and a nice lasting beige head. Smell is hoppy but restrained initially, but then opens up into a repulsvie damp, musty, odd fruitiness. Taste is almost spiced but mild. Musty cinnamon and light fruity hops. Balanced leaning hoppy, but mild for an IPA. Creamy body and light carbonation lead to a good mouthfeel, but the smell and flavor became more and more offputting the more I drank. Very dissapointed considering I generally love FFF beers, but not only was this horrendously overpriced, but the flavor and smell was incredibly odd and not enjoyable at all. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA

Pours a slightly hazy deep golden orange with a one finger lasting off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, bready malt, floral and green hops with just a hint of oak. Taste is grassy floral, floral, and earthy witha good dose of sweet malt and a hint of caramel and oak. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good. EithCubes (2171), Indiana, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 29, 2008 A very fresh bomber. Beautiful, robust hoppy nose: definitely Goldings, but there’s another varietal on top that I don’t recognize. A great herbal overtone, juniper and pine needles, with a little tree sap. Light pineapple and apricot. Hazy orange pour with a creamy, soapy yellow-tinged head. Medially bitter [Englishy-] hoppy taste with large gobs of pine and relatively few of caramel, but the story in the early going is definitely the pineapple. Just overflowing with fruitiness. Grapefruit and a very thin resin with a hint of lychee evident after some volume has been consumed. Abundant oranges. Light, almost watery body with well-hidden alcohol, and a dry, hoppy finish. Highly chuggable hop juice - a natural perfume. This sucker veered off into a decidedly unexpected direction - and that’s a good thing
I know I’m a sucker for the FFF stylistic take, but this just blew me away. Like it more than Dreadnaught. kramer (2517), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 28, 2008 22 oz bottle, via pantanap. Pours a clear dark gold body with a beautiful craggy and foamy off white head that had great retention. Big EKG hop nose, very grassy and has a minimal malt presence. Is this really a 3 F beer? The flavor really brings on the bitterness though, which I wasn’t expecting based on the smell. Grassy and floral hops up front fade to a citrus rind harshly bitter finish. The light maltiness really gets overpowered on the finish by the huge hot alcohol. Medium bodied with a slight resiny stickiness on the finish. Incredibly hot with alcohol, the finish reminds me of vodka almost. Overall, this was another weird product from these guys that I don’t think worked well at all. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Hoppy alright, but not with the usual overabundance of West Coast hops, per the norm of Three Floyds,a splendid, different earthy grassy hop aroma, hoppy and malty intial taste quickly transforms to prominent grassy, grainey hops, and finally an almost sharp bitterness in finish, A refreshingly different type of Hop bomb from 3F’s. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Lightly hazed golden amber color with a small, but stable ecru colored head. Very sweet aromas. Orange blossom honey, marmalade, plums and light earthy caramel. LIght malt start. Hops and over-ripe fruit in the middle. HInts of alcohol seep in. Flavors of orange peel, light resins, apples and herbal hops drift in and out. Some hints of oak in the linger. I’m not sure if I am catching the historical aspects of this one. Perhaps and ESB with an extreme attitude. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours orange with red hues, bright white 1/4 finger head. Nose is caramel and hops. Taste is bitter with lots of sugary, resiny sweetness. Biter-tastic, but balanced. Piney and floral hop flavor. Good IIPA-esque English thing. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2008 The draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy off-white colored finely sized quickly diminishing bubbles that left behind a semi-transparent dark orange almost uncarbonated body. The mouth feel was smooth from start to finish. It had a deep hop flavor with mid malty notes. The aroma also echoed the deep hop flavor.
