Pours a clear tawny with a large rocky creme head that eventually retreats to a quarter inch. The aroma is sweet, almost fruity, caramel malt and a floral, citric hop character with a loud oaky essence. Flavor is sweet and rich, very delicious cereal malt, with toffee, brown sugar, and caramel. The hops are unmistakably there, but not overbearing, they leave a nice bitterness that balances well with the malt. Distinctive oak on the finish, would say it’s aged a little more than slightly. All in all, this was a really enjoyable brew. Too bad it’s so expensive.

draft at Trion in New Haven, IN - Pours lightly hazy copper with a medium sized head. It smells mostly of hops with citrus and flower notes. The flavor is an excellent balance of biscuity malt and moderately strong citrus hops. It’s medium bodied and very easy to drink. I didn’t think it was 9% abv.

Bottle from Dean [bulldogp04]. Lots of anticipation and appreciation going on this one. Good copper color with a nice off-white head. Lots of floral hop aroma over a mild caramel backbone. Medium body with foamy carbonation. It has lots of hop. Mostly floral and citric, I’d say. Malt is ever present, but not overly strong. Finishes bitter and sticky? Maybe that’s me. Bitter lingers on and on. Really good drink.

Bomber. Flowery and sticky hops, toasted bagels, pineapple, great brown sugar malt backdrop. Flavor is grassy and bitter, chewy, nice bitter finish. Oily palate. Very good.

2009 Bottle. Pours a copper color with pretty good head. Aroma of English malts and Hops. I remember drinking this last year, and I thought it had that typical 3F hop profile, but this year I’m actually pretty impressed that this seems like a true to style English IPA. Tastes nice and malty with a good amount of bitterness and a pleasant flavor from the english hops. I can’t believe 3F actually brewed something without using American hops, and they did a great job at it too. This stuff is delicious.

Big thanks to Bobby91w for this gem. Pours a murky copper / orange, with a mid-sized, very dense head. Floral hops, some breakfast cereal, pine nuts and toasty caramel malts are in the aroma. Oh, man, what a flavor and mouthfeel. Incredibly full-bodied - this one is thick. Oak powers through bitter, aromatic floral hops, accentuating the sweetness of the nutty malts. I realize it’s brewed in Indiana, but it’s with all English ingredients, and this is FAR better than anything else I’ve ever had out of England. Big, refreshing flavor - just a bit sticky. I’m a fan.

On tap at FFF Brew Pub, Pours a golden orange. Piney hop & toasty aroma. Taste piney hops, toasted malts with oakey wood. Some malty sweetness leads to the oak finish. Its fuller bodied & pretty good

Bottle from StFun. Thanks Josh. Pours a lovely orange gold with crimson highlights and a large fluffy beiged head. Toasted malt and citrus abound on here. Malty Little bit hot, but still tasty.
