Pour is very hazy, almost wheat looking with some nice white head. Not much smoke, but the nose is quite malty with plenty of noble hops. The smoke come through subtly in the flavor but does not hinder the yummy Maibock. Full body and a dry finish.

Sampled on tap during Brixie’s 75th aniversary beer tasting in a fluted fest glass that actually looked like the business end of a blunder buss! Poured a light gold with a white, bubbly head and modest lacing. The aroma was immediately smoked sausage/bacon, but not over powering as many Rauchbiers or smoked beers I’ve tried. The flavor added to this, complimentary smooth malt and light hop bitterness thus resulting in a medium to light bodied, quaffable brew.

Had on tap in a pint glass. Interesting must try beer. Smells like a helles and tastes like a smoke beer. Typical bacon/smokey flavor but combined with nice lager flavors.

Golden pour with white head. Looks like a typical lame lager. Aroma is smoke and bacon, with some malt sweetness. Flavor is smokey, bacon, jerky, meat. Really smokey example of a smoked here. Nice mouthfeel. Pretty cool beer.

On tap at Three Floyds last night. Pint glass. This was a very nice surprise! Cloudy, dark gold appearance, nice white head, wonderful smoked meat aroma that doesn’t overwhelm. Nice balance of sweet and spicy. Refreshing. Very drinkable, very enjoyable. Well done!

On tap at 3F. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Aroma has a slight smoky presence that is enjoyable toasted malts with a slight soapiness. Roasted slightly smoky and meaty flavors. The light sweetness balances with the meat/bacon flavors and toasted malts. Enjoyable beer.

Smokiness was totally present, but subtle enough to still be really refreshing. Mild sweetness enhanced by the smoke. Would be a pretty plain beer except for the smoke. Excellent.
