Aroma is muddled and al mixed up with light black cherry skin, alcohol, and a mess of malts mixed in- some catty hops and hot sharp bourbon. Some vanilla and oak in the flavor but just a ton sof toasted and sharp crystal malts, hoppy astringent bitterness and more bourbon with almost no cherry flavor but some almond astringency and alcohol in the end. The taste was dominated by the bourbon and wood, which detracted from the beer. Meh. golubj (1289), Sunnyvale, California, USA

This one had the same sweet malt dominating with some woodiness and just a hint of tart cherries. Good palate and good aging. fredandboboflo (1418), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 EBF V NOTB. Aroma very much of a sweet, cherry liqueur. Flavor develops more with the bourbon and cherries mingling with a rich malt base, but still runs the border of liqueur sugariness. It seemed like every other sip changed my opinion of this from a nice, tart, cherry barley wine to an overly sweetened bourbon concoction, but there’s no question that at the end of the day it’s a really interesting and solid brew. railcat1 (581), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Already rated look at other cherry behemoth, should be same version if not correct me or take this off of site.CHEERS! Earlier Rating: 11/9/2007 Total Score: 4.1 This was a nice touch to Behemoth adding cheeries and ageing it in wood,it was very smooth with a nice but not overwhelming cheery finish sort of like the way they did the BRUCE with the raspberry puree,it did have a little of a bourbon kick to it but that is what it is all about,it should of won a medal.CHEERS! | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 16, 2008 On tap 12/30/07 at the brewpub. On the way back to NC, decided to make a 2nd stop during a 3 day trip. Good for me. When we pulled in on the night of the 27th, this was not available. However on the 30th she magically appeared. Though it was noon and we had an 11 hour drive ahead of us, I immediately ordered this beer upon seeing it on the chalkboard/taplist. Hell, we just drove by Soldier Field and the kickoff to the Bears game happened to be on the big screen, so what the hell? On to....the beer (finally)....This poured from the tap with no head whatsoever. Needless to say, I am very excited to try this beer. Aroma is of bourbon, carmelized cherries, big alcohol and toffee notes. Taste is that of the regular Behemoth accentuated by the bourbon, tartness of the cherry and an almost Jack Daniels-kind-of-sour whiskey. The warmth of the oak/alcohol and tartness of the cherry linger pleasently. Really interesting. Not very well balanced, but still, somehow, smooth and easy-drinking (for a sipper). Who am I to criticize? Though I was priveleged to try this, believe me, it shall not inhibit my rating....Lies!!! SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2008 On tap at the brewpub: It pours a cloudy, murky (reminds me of the retention pond near my boyhood home) brownish red in color. The nose is porty showing off brandy macerated cherries, caramel and plum. The palate showed just a hint of alcoholic heat toward the end. While this may sound "off" the whole thing worked, overall. While I prefer the "regular" Behemoth this was a nice change of pace. tjthresh (1774), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 28, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours murky, muddy brown, with trace amounts of off white head. The nose features wood, light burbon, and a scant amount of syrupy cherry. The flavor is some woody dryness, bourbon heat, and a bit of cherry sweetness. I think I get some of the original hops here as well. Fuller fody. Medium carbonation. Dry warm finish. Really good stuff.
