Draft at the brewpub. Pour is opaque black with a clingy brown head. The nose is mostly smokey chared bourbon oak. There a ton of bourbon barrel flavors here as well, with a bit of roast and some hop cutting through. Full body with prickly carbonation and a sharp alcoholic finish.

Crushed with CaryTheDude and JakeBra. Slignt bourbon aroma. The bourbon flavor goes well with the chocolate notes in the stout. Oh, this is awesome.

Crushed with Honkeybra and Jakebra. Off tap @ the brewery. Very smooth. Subtle bourbon brings out choclatey goodness. Pretty delicious.

On draught at the brewery’s tap room during Dark Lord Days ’08. Pours an opaque near black as the Ace of Spades brew with a thin tan head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and tan ring. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some black malt, sweet bourbon, coconut, dark chocolate and some vanilla. Taste is full bodied, little carbonation with flavors of toasted dark malt, chocolate, some bourbon and vanilla with a fine hint of citrus zest. Finish is smooth with a dark chocolate, bourbon and vanilla aftertaste that slowly disappears. Another excellent bourbon aged beer from 3F.

Draft @ 3F. Pourd black in color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of roast, hops and bourbon. Mellowed from the original Black Sun with a hint of bourbon flavor. Great!

Draft at FFF, DLD. this was a huge score for me as i’m a big fan of the base beer. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is bourbon, fruit, and chalky vanilla. The flavor was just that with some hop character but more so chocolate and bourbon. I loved this.

On tap at Three Floyds and served in a snifter. This beer poured a slick, oily dark brown with a bubbly head of dark tan foam that lasted a little white. Just a touch of slippery lacing was left behind. The aroma of the beer was made up of sweet bourbon notes along with a nice roasted malt backbone. The flavor included bourbon, wood, coffee, and burnt malts. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with very mild carbonation. A nicely done barrel-aged beer. The bourbon blends in nicely with the original beer.
