Commercial Description:
Ireland's first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster Ireland around 940. His mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland, only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014 putting down a rebellion by the King of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. Slainte!

Another delicious beer from 3F. Pours a perfect dark amber color with a medium to large sized light brown head. Nose is hops, bacon, caramel, and a bit of wood? Taste is very malty but is complemented nicely with a strong bitter / hoppy backbone. Sweet but not cloying and I get molasses, brown sugar, caramel, with a nice floral background. Just a really nice beer from a great brewery.

One of the best Reds I’ve had. Very dark, you can barely see through it. It has that great FFF taste with a strong red malt flavor. A must-have for any irish red fan.

Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown with the most enchanting aroma - sweet, delicious malt and fig newton (not just fig). Heavenly! No head to speak of, but a brief moment of off-white foam when poured. Bold malt taste, some diacetyl and a wee tad vegetal - not worth complaining about as it’s so small as to add complexity to the taste, rather than worries of DMS. Light but pervasive hopping. I can indeed taste the pineapple in the finish - very nice! Carbonation is just right, and the body is just the right consistency. I like this very, very much - a big thank you to Ughsmash for a much sought-after beer!

Poured a nice clear amber with a nice two finger head. The head stayed full for several minutes. Full of flavor. Palate was nice and smooth. The aftertaste was a bit harsh but flaverful.

Bomber from the Beer Geek. Reddish brown color with a one-finger beige/tan head. Aroma of mildly roasted caramel and a good dose of resin hop - maybe citrus too. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Body thins rapidly as carbonation leaves. Flavor is caramel malt, mild citrus bitter, and there’s roasted malt and some bitter in the end. Refreshing, but not over the top in any particular character.

Poured a nice ruby red color with a tan head that disappeared almost as fast as it developed, quite disappointing. Smell was awesome, pineapple and resiny hops greet you, probably not very true to style, but it’s smells so good. Taste reminds me of red Kool-Aid for some reason, piney hops kick in to help out and a slightly roasted finish. I just didn’t care for the Kool-Aid taste, maybe I’m missing something. Lower carbonation and light to medium bodied. It was a decent beer and loved the smell, but I can’t say I’d search this out. This is the first FFF’s that I didn’t find to be awesome, but then again, maybe I’m missing something. I’ll probably try it again to double check.

22oz bottle, courtesy of bwkrieger. Thanks, Brian! Pours a murky, amber-brown color; light-tan head with mixed-bubbling lacing. Solid amounts of tea-like malts, chewy oranges, and resiny soft bitterness in the aroma; like orange tea from the Amarillo, but nothing astringent. Medium mouthfeel: tea-like malts, red fruits, dried oranges, and some light citrus; very much malt-forward, with some slight acidity and chewy citrus; very drinkable and sessionable; could use a touch more hops, but I’m not sure how old this is. Lengthy finish: orange and mineral hop bitterness, and plenty of tea.

Bomber from marino’s in toledo. Thanks to K’s mom. pours a hazy reddish orange with a medium beige head. has a citrus (pineapple and lemon) and hop smell -- with something I couldn’t identify until I read some other reviews: a touch of grass. the smoking kind. not that I know anything about that. anyway... the taste is sweet caramel malt with fruit hops and minimal but lingering bitterness. great balance. just a little thin by 3F standards. like this a lot though.
