Commercial Description:
Ireland's first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster Ireland around 940. His mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland, only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014 putting down a rebellion by the King of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. Slainte!

22oz bottle, shared again with DeuceDeuceOU. Pours a nice copper color, Nose is very much a 3Floyds and quite indicative of the taste to come. Hops is here but also some generous malt. A great beer to drink nothing overpowering about this one. a good Irish ale.

Bomber from Canal’s in Marlton, NJ. Deep reddish amber pour under a tall and tight off-white head with generous lacing. Nose of caramel, nuts, lemon peel and hops. Sweet malt predominates the flavor but doesn’t dominate it - nice supporting cast of citrusy hops, toffee and a small touch of milk chocolate. Rich texture and a sweet, lasting finish. A solid beer from a first rate but frustrating brewer due to their horribly inconsistent distribution policies.

Bottle from Discount Liquor. Pours a deep amber brew with a bit of off white foam. Hmmmm. Nose is hoppy but I thought maybe I could get some rye or grain of some kind. Nose had a lot going on as I got some Barley Wine note with some fruity-toffe also.A nice brew from the Floyds crew.

Reddish pour. Malty aroma and flavor. Finish is slightly bitter. Not bad, but definitely not my favorite from FFF’s.

22oz Bomber @ Coles. Buffalo NY. Not one of the better beers i’ve had from FFF but it has huge shoes to fill. Reddish brown in color with medium head. Notes of caramel malts. Good Irish red but I would prefer a Alpha King any day. Had to rerate after having it on tap @ Coles. Best Irish red to date. Big very smooth malt flavor with nice hoppy backbone. Very similar to Bear Republic Red Rocket. Great

Pours a nice reddish brown; medium whitish head. Flavor was mostly of caramel malt and toffee. Hops back ground. Somewhat above average. Just not the biggest fan of the style.

Bottle. Pours a hazy red/brown with a medium head. The head is diminishing and left little lacing. Aroma of caramel with floral and pine hops very prominent. Tastes of caramel, toffee, bread with a medium hops bitterness. It’s medium bodied, slightly creamy. A long, sweet finish.
