This irish red styled ale sports a flavor prifile more akin to an American pale or bitter. The nose is predominently Northamericn hops with a nice toffee malt character. Flavor is mildly malty with little hop bitterness, but ample hop aroma. Deep Indian red with a small off white head, this beer is suprisingly antenutated given its strong hopyy nose.

Bottled. Brought back from the Vintage Cellar. Beer is a medium red-brown color without any head. The aroma is malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, light note of caramel; Hoppy with a light note of herb, moderate note of tea; Yeasty with a light note of cellar. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic and lightly bitter with an average-length, moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. The body is light, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is lively.

Bottle. Clear dark tan, thin head. Thick, malty aroma, very sweet. Taste is malt dominated, some serious earthiness/mineral taste as well. Very light bodied. Finish is mineralized, hops. Smells like a barleywine, drinks like an ESB. Kinda strange, but well made.

22 oz bomber-Pours a mahogany red/amber color w/a small off white head. Roasted hoppy aroma. Hopps up front, somewhat sweet, caramel, roasted flavor. Malt comes in behind that to give it a good balance. Long rich bitter finish. Good ale-would love to try this on tap-I bet it really rocks!

Bottled. Had a nice Cascade-like hoppy aroma followed by toasty and sweeter malts. Nicely balanced, with a crisp finish. Thanks Santa (July)!

pours a dark reddish copper. Small off white head with medium carbonation. Aroma is not too strong in this one, some light citrus and malt. Taste is very hoppy up front with a smooth middle, lots of sweet malts across the palate. Lasting bitter finish.

Brian Boru Irish Red Beer is a nice amber ale. The pour is a dark red with a nice tan head. The hops aroma hits you from the moment you begin to pour, and it is very nice. I expected the taste to be dominated by the hops with such a strong odor, but this is not the case. The flavor has a quick hop hit upon first taste, which very rapidly turns into a smooth, mellow, carmelly malt flavor. This baby is really smooth in flavor. The finish is somewhat dry and satisfying. I could drink this one all day long. The mouthfeel is a little thin for what us supposed to be an Irish style of ale, but nothing terrible. A very fine FFF product indeed."
