Dark, reddish amber to copper color - beautiful body. Smallish, off-white to light tan head and some lace. Caramel/toffee flavor but not overly sweet. Tastes lower in alcohol. A nice flavor; has session qualities. pivo (2537), Germany

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 2/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 18, 2006 Typical 3 Floyds grapefruit blast in the nose, along with spice and tropical candy. Mission
accomplished, the nose beckons you to drink and drink some more. The brew pours a
garnet with melon highlights. The off white root beer head is frothy and mostly
diminishing with light lace. The brew’s flavor is very well balanced, and the character is
endowed with uber complexity. Wow! All of this depth from an Irish Red Ale? The
brewer must be cheating somehow. The medium body is dry and very lively. Alas,
another outstanding brew from my favorite brewer; big surprise! BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Bottle. Poured a dark amber with an off-white head that left some lacing. Some small partials a drift in this one. Aroma of caramel with a hit of citrus. The flavor followed the same with caramel and lemon. Reminded me of freshly brewed iced tea. Light bitterness. Light body and mellow finish. Thanks to Springlicker for sharing this one at the Tennessee Tasting! tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours bold copper red with tight white head. The aroma is citrusy hops, but with quite a bit of caramel and buttered toast. The flavor is mildly hoppy with some toast, caramel, and maybe a little honey, and a faintly bitter finish. jimbowood (956), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Bottle purchased @ the brewpub. Very hoppy red ale with a nice hoppy aroma. Don’t really like the style, but this is a good beer. Suttree (2740), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Brilliant red, with a smallish beige foam ring. Huge caramel aroma, with a hint of black pepper. Flavor is more restrained than the aroma, but with the same notes of caramel and pepper. Slight vegetal finish. Thanks to Springslicker for sharing! Very carbonated with just a slight head over the cherry colored semi-opaque body. Scents of grapefruit, orange peels and tropical fruits gave hints at what was to come. Upon tasting it, the grapefruit, malt, vanilla and floral hops formed a well-balanced bouquet. The second impression was of cherries, vanilla, caramel and a slight buttery texture. It was a nice smooth experience with a full range of tastes and pleasing tastes. The only weak spot was in the finish, which could have packed a little more punch in my opinion.
