Ireland's first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster Ireland around 940. His mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland, only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014 putting down a rebellion by the King of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. Slainte!

a rich red ale that is well balanced between elements. reddish brown with off white head, it’s very hoppy for a red ale but the hopping rate is moderate in the three floyds standard. a solid ale.

Bomber. Dark red with good brown streaks. Good lacing. A mild ale with the usual 3F hopping, but very subdued. Good coffe, citrus, pine, caramel notes. The best Irish ale I’ve had to date, but that’s like saying the best movie since Species II.

Bottle. Pours mahogany red with a diminishing white head. Strong citrus hop aroma, along with some pineapple and caramel. Big malt backbone that has strong flavors of caramelized sugar and toffee. A pleasantly bitter and slighltly resiny finish. Way too hoppy for an authentic Irish Ale, but heck...it’s Three Floyds! Besides, I am a hophead so I don’t mind. Nice Americanized version of the style

22 ounce. Pours a slightly hazy deep red with some orange. Head was fluffy and off white, left lacing and sustained nicely. Aroma of caramel and toffee as well as a nice citrus and various other fruits (some pineapple). Flavor of sweet and toasty malts, more of toffee and some light citrus and pine from the hops. Yet again a nicely balanced brew from Three Floyds.

Pours deep red with a thin head that fades quickly. Aroma of off the vine hips with apricot, grapefruit, a mild pine, and caramel. Flavor is bitter fresh hops, pine, apricot. Toasty malts. Medium body with a slightly watery palate. Aftertaste is a slightly watered down bitter hoppiness.

Slightly hazy brown color with a thin frothy off-white head. Strong aromatic hops in the aroma. Sweet flavor hints of tea, with some floral hops in the end.

Wow, what a rare treat in these parts, thanks Dave! Shared with Blankboy, Hogtown Harry and company. Lovely strong hop aroma. Light brown, small white head. Malty taste, not as many hops as aroma suggests, but style quite bitter for the style. A solid session amber that is miles ahead of its other style mates. Easily the best Irish Ale I have had, it goes on my very short critical list of beers with Irish names that do not suck (a very touchy subject for me).

Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, tupalev, Dave B, and R++ - courtesty of Dave B. Poured clear mahogany with a small whitish head, almost a green tinge (Irish Ale!). Incredible rich resiny hop aroma well matched by a solid peaty malt backbone, with some fresh rye in there just because. The taste was smooth, a nice malt/hop balance - bitter, nicely carbonated mouthfeel, solid body - just a great, great beer, a solid easy drinker and another reason to really like TF.
