Commercial Description:
Ireland's first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster Ireland around 940. His mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland, only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014 putting down a rebellion by the King of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. Slainte!

Start with a great lable, and when you open it and pour it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a great looking amber and it has a sweet smell. It pours with a nice blonde head, which is kind of ironic for a red. The taste starts sweet with a faint hint of hops and finishes smooth. Another great beer from 3 floyds

Bottle. 22oz. Pours a deep red without much head. Malts with a sprinkiling of hops on the nose. Initially, flavors of light roasted coffee with some sweet fruits. After it warmed, the roasted flavors lessened and what was left was a nice, balanced brew. Not the the typical hop bomb that Three Floyds typically puts out there. This was better than I expected.

Tremendous citrus hop aroma deceiving on the body. Lighter pallat than expected with long-lasting finish and excellent pineapple notes. Another superb creation from 3floyds.

Tap at Drafting Room Exton. Pours a nice clean red color with a very well known FFF signature hop aroma. The flavor was very well balanced with a hop flavor very reminicant of Alpha King. Better than I expected.

22 oz bomber-pours a creamy tan head that laces with amber color. Aroma is fruity, mango, hops. Taste is malt, fruit, followed by a solid medium hop finish. Taste not quite up to the expectations the aroma gave. 3.3 Then with food-very sweet, more malty & a slight scotch taste, not as good for my taste.

22oz bomber pours a rich rusted brown with a mass of tan head. The signature Three Floyds hops hit your noce with a touch of honey and caramel malt. The flavor is enriched in hops but the malt is the star in this one. The malt gives this brew a graceful balance and wonderful texture.

22oz bottle. Reddish brown. Sweet malt and citrus apples notes. Dry and lively. Cloyingly sweet. Lingering pine finish. Delicious. My first re-rating. Still a bomber. Notes may be redundany, but hey, wadda ya gonna do? Deep ruby hue. Clinging white head. Medium malt nose. Zesty hop aromas. Apparent orange aromatic notes as well. Sweet malty, nutty flavor. Caramel, spicy, zesty, slightly bitter with a long dry finish. As it warms, the piney hops really shine through. I just had to get another and try it again!

Served on draft at the brewpub in an imperial pint glass. Nice two finger head. Dark amber, almost brown in color. No visible carbonation. Great big amarillo hop aroma. citrus/tropical fruit and some caramel malts with a short bitter finish. Medium body, and smooth finish make this beer easily drinkable. Nothing really Irish about this beer, but this is Three Floyds we’re talking about.
