Commercial Description:
Ireland's first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster Ireland around 940. His mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland, only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014 putting down a rebellion by the King of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. Slainte!

[big bottle from tiggmtl. Thanks, man] Misty orange red with wispy white surface and thin ring. Aroma screams of citrusy US hops, with some caramel cowering in the background. Wonderful, lemony hops flavour well met with melanoidiny malt and gentle sweetness. Raisins, pineapple, cinnamon. Medium to full body with medium carbonation. Wonderful balance and very quaffable.

Cloudy caramel body with thin, off-white, quickly dissipating head. Subtle aroma of caramel. Flavor is grainy with notes of malt, wort, yeast, hops, and biscuits. A sublte caramel sweetness on the finish. Nice smooth palate. A good beer.

This beer produces a hearty aroma consisting of yeast and hops. It fills the glass with a dark copper colored solution that rests under a cashew colored head. This moderately thick beer flows over the tongue smoothly as it perks the mouth preparing it to enjoy an abundance of taste. The tongue is enticed with a sweet hopppy-yeasty-biscuit taste that has a mild bit of sour hidden amongst the other flavors. This beer fades leaving a nice roasted nut taste lingering on the taste buds and in the throat.
