Pours a golden bronze, with a yellowish pale sheen, with thin white head and wet lacing. Big on hops in the nose, citrus, honey, some caramel. Flavor is bright, with bitter hops, crisp, honey, citrus and pine, some flowery notes. Drinkable, smooth, easy to put back a few. Surprisingly balanced despite the style. sneagrams3 (1762), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Bright hoppy nose. Touch candy, but mostly citrus with a touch woody. Medium bodied and big and fresh. Modest effervescence. Crisp and fresh with a bitter off-dry finish. Rolling hop overture. Notes of citrus apples and grapefruit. Totally money. 3F strikes again... Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Incredible purity and vibrancy in the nose, pure hop glory. Notes of herbs and weeds, but also has some nice citrus and fruit notes as well. Trying to pick up malt elements iin the flavor is tough, with only light notes of biscuit. Flavor is dominated by juicy, resinous, fresh hops. No brewery makes a hoppy beer like 3 Floyds. They utilize hops so well. Possibly the best fresh hop beer. Nose has earthy pine and citrus, some sugar, and slight malt, all around very herb. Flavor is less bitter with more sugary malt, some grapefruit, slight tea. Syrupy body, not much carbonation. Overall big and tasty but not very expressive or unique. masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA

Poured an amber color with a little head. Aroma was nice, apples, pine and grass. Taste was much the same, more apples coming through, sharp pine and resinous hops on the finish. Really tasty. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Orange color with a medium head and a big floral-citrus hop aroma. Flavor is dominated by a brit-hop earthy, floral taste with a bit of bready malts. Good stuff, although not as raw/wet on the hops as I expected. DalzAle (516), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA

Very hazy orange pour with a frothy half inch head. Very citrusy and hoppy notes right of the bat. Flavor was excellent; orange, pine, hops and finished crisp and light with a pleasant herbal aftertaste. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially people who are just trying IPA’s for the first time. after4ever (2840), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2008 22. Thanks, Pantanap! Pours a crystal clear rubied amber under a dense, somewhat fizzy tan head. Nice sweet orange and sugary grapefruit nose. Creamy medium body. Beautiful tart citrus over the top of caramel notes on the mid-palate. Long resiny finish. Classic midwest IPA, maybe even edging into juicy SD hop bomb territory a little. Lovely stuff.
