Rings of splotchy, ribbony lace coat the glass well. The aroma shows a toasty, biscuit malt background with a bounty of fruity and floral notes, including orange blossoms, marmalade, and bitter grapefruit. Flavors show great balance, with the toasty sweetness of the caramel biscuit notes countering the bold grapefruit and orange peel bitterness. The finish is very floral, citrus blossom notes lingering for a good while. Medium-plus bodied and balanced on the tongue, the mouthfeel transitions towards semi-dry on the finish, but not at all astringent. Great beer, but I am not sure that it outshines less heralded harvest ales like Sierra Nevada or Great Divide, as the scores would indicate. durhambeer (1219), Durham, USA

Bright amber orange pour with a lovely off-white head. Lots of fruity goodness. Hops were not too bitter or resiny. Nice floral notes as well. Light and drinkable. Would drink lots of this if I could. TURDFERGUSON (1603), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

Nose is piney and citrus, with some light apricot. Big sweet malts and heavy hops highlight the flavor. Pretty darn good harvest ale. jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2008 My review got erased during posting...will try again later. Suffice to say, too much malt and not enough hop for a "hop harvest" beer. It has a balance similar to Alpha King, which is good, but I expected more for this type of brew. A lush orange color, with a slight yeasty look to it, but an overall vibrancy of color. Thick head. The aroma is extremely floral, fruity, but with a subtle undertone of earthiness. While the soft floral notes do most of the work, there is enough bitterness in the flavor to give this real balance. Full bodied, strong finish, one of the better harvest beers I have had. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA

Aromas of pine, fruits, citrus, hops of course. Flavors are sweet caramel malts and hops, citrus and pine, nicely balanced and a very nice drink emacgee (1891), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Thanks JCB for sharing. Pours a hazy soft gold with a 1-2 finger frothy offwhite head. The nose is very hoppy, fresh and citrusy, grapefruit rind, mango, apricot, very pungent. The flavor is upfront and hoppy, citrusy, mild bitterness coupled with full flavor, citrus rind, lemonzest, develops an earthy maltiness with some warmth. Nice mouthfeel and soft bitterness. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

Pours hazy amber with a moderate sized white head that leaves good lace. Smells astringent and citrusy hoppy. Complex yet potent. Tastes sweet malty and big citrusy hoppy, nice balance, very tasty. One of the better wet hop beers that I have had. Medium body, good carbonation.
