Aroma of grapefruit, caramel malt, and oranges/tangerines. The flavor has awesome hops. Softer than normal grapefruit notes accompanied by oranges, flowers, and herbal/minty hops. A small amount of balancing malt. Nice and resiny. Pretty dry mouthfeel. A little peppery as well. Medium carbonation and a medium body. A damn fine IPA! High Tide used to be my favorite fresh hopped IPA, but I think this takes the cake. TheEpeeist (1489), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose is pink grapefruit, caramel and orange peel. Medium body, juicy and resiny, balanced nicely with soft carb. Taste of mandarins with lemon tartness and a peppery finish. Good one. ucusty (1919), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

One thick ring of lace. Wonderful fresh hop aroma. Very complex fruity flavor with pineapple, mango, caramel & malts. Nice clean finish! Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Bomber. Poured brilliant medium orange with a creamy cap of beige head. The aroma was strong and juicy with a delightful blend of hoppage (pine, grapefruit, and some mango represented).. sweet caramel backing with a big of grapefruit meat.. there were just some sharper boozy notes at the back that shouldn’t be there considering the ABV. The flavor was along those same lines.. pale malts, toffee, and caramel support very green pine, grapefruit, and pear bitterness.. starts off juicy, but the combination of high bitterness and rougher alcohol notes on the back. Medium-bodied with higher carbonation across the middle with high bitterness.. again, rough on the finish. JPDIPSO (4935), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Clear dark amber color with a tall, lasting beige head. BIG fresh hops aromas. Back to Christmas, a fresh cut frasier fir is sitting in my glass. Hints of licorice and grapefruit also floating about. Pale and toasted malts come out as this sets. Starts with a sugary hop tea. Light caramel and pear flavors seep in. Middle is loaded with green hops. Finish is mildly sweet with caramel coated hops. I seem to see a reoccurring hops note. Linger really feels and tastes like I am sucking on a just picked hop cone. Great, not quite, but I like the fresh hop idea that really does translate. They accomplished, what I think were their objectives. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Deep golden in color with lacing remaining once poured. The nose was very fresh with scents of grapefuit, fresh cut grass and herbs. In the mouth it is fresh and light with good body and a little richness in the midpalate. This would be a very nice beer in the summertime. IPAndy (120), minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Aroma is perfume- like, if Calvin Klein made eau de pine tree and juicy hops. Flavor is more subtle than may 3F brews- sweet and grassy with a bit of peach. A bit of tea maybe. Excellent!
