Bottle, thanks Scott! Clear medium amber pour, slight head, tiny bubbles. Big, awesome piney, grapefruit skin nose. That’s what I’m talkin about. Pretty bitter in the mouth. Without the complexity and awe of Dreadnaught, without the balance of Alpha King. Still, it’s lively and fresh. Though I don’t dig that long, almost chemical finish on this. That may wear on me.

(22 oz. bottle via trade with pantanap, thanks Kan!) Pours hazy gold-amber with a tallish resiny-looking off-white head that recedes to a big, sloppy resiny cap. Aroma of big-time pine and citrus with sticky caramel and vanilla underneath. Smooth but lightly prickly palate. Big, sticky, sloppy sheets of lacing cling to the inside of the shaker and don’t let go. Flavor of big, bitter pine/citrus overlaying caramel-vanilla malt. Bitter, very bitter. Very hop-forward. Lingering bitter and light pine aftertaste. Hops are a bit abrasive, otherwise I’d give this a bit higher rating.

22 oz. bottle from the NP10V4 courtesy of tjthresh. Pours a hazy golden amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted through mid-glass and left a complete coating of lace with each sip. Very pleasant aroma of grapefruit along with some sweet malt. Often times for me, this is followed by bitter pith over-the-top bitterness. Thankfully, this is not the case with this beer. The flavor has a solid malt backbone with some caramel sweetness followed by some fruity grapefruit hops that while bitter, is not excessive. Medium-full bodied. Very enjoyable beer, thanks for sending this one, Tom!

Pours a nice translucent copper into the glass, with generous soapy lacing. The floral nose has hints of citrus and malt. Nice sweet malt, grapefruit, some peel and zest notes, and a nice, nice bitter back to finish the pull. The mouthfeel is smooth and easy, providing a nice quaff to the complexities at work. Superb IPA!

Tap @ FFF. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a nice tight bubbled off-white head. Lots of delicate lacing. Great fresh super-citrusy hop nose with a little bit of malt below. The flavor is super fresh as well, very bright and bursting with grapefruity goodness. Minimal malt thankfully, keeping the hops front and center and the alcohol within normal IPA range. Mouthfeel is medium bodied without being heavy or sticky. Lingering citrusy finish. A very nice beer to have straight from the source.

Bottle: pours a nice gold colir large white head with a little lacing. The aroma is awesome full of a fresh sweet pine aroma with a nice malt behind. Flavor is great too, plenty of fresh hops that have a good sweet pinyness and a hint of citrus plenty of malt to hold this together.

I thought I’d never find the FFF connect down here but I finally hit the cache tonite. I have very limited experience with FFF but this is a buck wild brew for sure. Nose is crazy fruits, although strangely it is very subdued--it’s very nice, but I wish it were stronger. Appearance is solid gold, good looking and seemingly quite a bit darker at the top of the glass than at the bottom. Mouth is unspectacular. If this review seems a bit too critical it’s because the last beer I had was the essentially perfect Alesmith IPA; and at any rate the flavor of this brew supercedes any and all of the intangibles. It is fucking delicious and so wild that I can’t even decide if it’s complicated or very basic. It’s maybe a bit more hoppy than necessary for a 5.5% brew, but it creates this bitter lemon-hop LONG aftertaste that is out of control. To say this brew is flawed is completely missing the point. Madness is what it is.

Pours orange/gold with a pillowy orange cream head. The aroma is lovely and balanced with caramel, lemon, orange, grapefruit and a hint of earthy pine. The flavor is not so balanced. Sweaty up front with sweeter tropical fruit giving way to citrus and caramel, then ending extremely bitter. Huge pine and almost inky in the aftertaste. This is close to hop juice. Its a monstrous IPA and I like it, but the lack of balance keeps it a step away from greatness IMO.
