Rating #1200:
Hazy orange/copper coloured body with no head at all! Aroma of malt, sugar, alcohol, medicine and some fruit. Medium-bodied; Mild medicinal flavour with some malt, almost no sugars and little else. Aftertaste is mild with no great tastes. Overall, way past its prime-but truly a nice treat to try with Jon[R888710]. I hung around with this bottle for about two years, which I found alone on a shelf in one of the best stores here in Washington. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 18-September-2004.

Murky mango colored body with a thin white head that lasts only a few seconds. Smells interestingly of apple, acidic citrus (lime maybe), malt and sugars. Taste is drying, dusty, some subdued dark fruit flavors, and nothing outstanding. This beer suffers from its old age, I just wish I could have had it in his prime. Shared with my great friend jgb9348.

Thanks to Drnk_McDermott for this one. Pours turbid dark straw with a small white head. Aroma of malt, barnyard, hops, and fruit. Tastes of malt, slight hops, citrus, and fruit. The palate is medium and the finish is very dry. There were tan to black floaties on the bottom of my pint glass. A unique beer.

Bottle: Slightly hazy dark golden hue with fading white head and little lace. The aroma has notes of mild noble hops, toasted buttery malts, apple, and dusty yeast esters. The taste is balanced between zesty and peppery hops with a smooth malt background. The finish is slightly bitter. The feel is dry and smooth. Not to bad for an over the hill pils with a least a year and a half age on it.

The hops didn’t actually strike me as the Saaz that the label claimed. A bit darker than most pils, but that isn’t all bad. Dry and well-hopped flavor that gives way to an almost sweet aftertaste.

Retired? Orange copper with little activity. Sweet malt aroma. Flat texture. Very sweet and almost caramel-toned.

Fruity, lightly sweet aroma, with notes of honeyish maltiness, lemon, apple, pear and herbal, grassy hop. Light-medium golden color, typically slight, subsiding Pilsener head. Flavor is fruity and citric to start, juicy and lemony, becoming slightly more bitter and then closing with a bit of light malty sweetness. Light-medium bodied, soft palate. Sufficiently refreshing. Decent overall but not impressive.
