Initially, the aroma was pleasant but to quickly became unpleasant and sticky. Thin bodied. With first taste, there was something very pleasurable that I couldn’t pinpoint. Unfortunately, didn’t show up again. The mellow taste quickly lost its pleasure in a metallic or alcohol sharpness. The after taste left my mouth dry, sticky and desiring to be cleared. My first impressions of it were good but it didn’t last. My slow consumption rate didn’t allow it to warm up to me. Hopistotle420 (1178), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

Clean, crisp, dry, light bodied, finishing with juicy hops. Very nice, drinkable assertive pils. Thirst quenching, very balanced. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA

Has a solid saaz hops flavor up front with some buttery sweet malt flavors. Finished doughy and sweet (like sugar cookie dough). As it warmed, the malt dominated and the hops had trouble making themselves known. Still, the flavor is good, and if you drink it cold enough, the hops are wonderful. Strange finish as it warms, mildly sweet, a little metallic? Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2003 A bit of an old bottle, I suspect. Dark golden. Pretty strong alch. presence in the nose, deppy malty, but not soft and bready - this is big and meaty, sweet and bitter. Not getting much Saaz through the malt. Good but not great. Clearly aimed at store shelves that might be put off by 3F's "Not Normal" product. A sudsy head over a yellow that's darker than the usual pale yellow American beer. Just slightly roasted malt flavor, nicely balanced by Saaz hops. I wasn't highly impressed, but this was an older bottle, still contract brewed at Schell's, so I will definitely seek out more to re-rate it. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 17, 2003 This beer formed a medium sized white creamy head when poured and it had small sized bubbles that quickly diminished. The body was slightly cloudy and there was some lively carbonation observed. The hue was yellow-gold and the nose was fruity, cloves, spices, and malty. The flavor was very bitter, hoppy, malty and tangy. The mouthfeel of this beer was tingly on my tongue, smooth and light-medium bodied. There was very little lacing with this beer. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

Maybe it's my vision going bad on me, but I did not see the brewer on the bottle anywhere. I thought it was by Burnham Brewing Co. Oh well. This brew poured a small head of fine to large sized mostly diminishing bubbles that left very little lacing and a hazy almost uncarbonated yellow orange colored body behind. It has a mild malt hop aroma, a smooth mouth feel, and a lightly hopped light malt flavor. Panzuriel (993), Westerville, Ohio, USA
