Sure, I knew it was old, the beer being discontinued for some time, but it was 3F, so I had to try it. Surprizingly, it held up fairly well, a slightly hazy golden color with a short-lived head and little remaining carbonation. But the smell wasn’t skunked at all, actually a fairly pleasant malty aroma with a dash of hops. The drink was kind of flat, but it had a well-balanced flavoring of malt & hops. Nice clean finish. This was probably a really good pils when fresh.
For the adventurous... There’s still two dusty six-packs remaining at that store.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2002 Golden color with a light white head that is quite unstable. Hint of noble hops and malt in the aroma. Crisp hops flavor with a touch of malt. Perhaps a bit thin for a czech, but only slightly. Solid effort. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of malt, barnyard, hops, and fruit. Tastes of malt, slight hops, citrus, and fruit. The palate is medium and the finish is very dry. There were tan to black floaties on the bottom of my pint glass. A unique beer. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2003 Light golden color, small fast-diminishing head. Fresh grassy-malty nose, not a whole lot going on there. Flavor is again fresh, reminiscent of the meadow, but not terribly strong or memorable. Excellent body as I've come to expect from 3Fs. I may be underrating this in my current half-conscious state, so I will definitely put it on my list of try-agains. BBB63 (4283), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 1, 2004 Bottle: Slightly hazy dark golden hue with fading white head and little lace. The aroma has notes of mild noble hops, toasted buttery malts, apple, and dusty yeast esters. The taste is balanced between zesty and peppery hops with a smooth malt background. The finish is slightly bitter. The feel is dry and smooth. Not to bad for an over the hill pils with a least a year and a half age on it. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2002 Rich 24k orangey color, neat small white head. Aroma that is blend of mid roasted malt with soft hops. Wow this one is really hopy for a pilsner! Lighter on aftertaste, some tropical fruit. Not as balance as it is said .
