Had at the brewery and served by Nick Floyd. Very cool. First let me say that Kolsch and I dont really get a long to much. In fact, every time I have experienced this style I have left feeling like I have missed something. Having said that, this was no different but it definately had a better kick to it. The nose is somewhat hoppy with some grass to it. The flavour was hoppy with a nice hint of sourness. Pretty good for a kolsch but not phantastic.

Hoppy for the style, but with a subtle tangy, fruity background. Quite a bit of flavor; overall a good brew.

Slightly fruity aroma. Soft, smooth malt flavor, some hops present. Very light, smooth finish, thin malt, good for the style but lacking in complexity. Slight sweetness.

On tap at Sheffield's, Chicago: Light yellow/golden with dissipating white head. Mild hop aroma with a fruity (grape?)/flowery taste. Finishes bitter.

A nice change of pace after hitting some heavier beers. Crisp, light, and a beautiful golden hue. Great first beer at the tour.

This beer was a light gold color and a little cloudy. It had a small white head that left trace lace. An aroma of hops and slightly herbal/grainey. A flavor of hops and grain. The finish and body was light but a touch astrigent. I am not really a fan of this stye, but not a bad beer. A bit odd to pick this time of the year to put in on tap though.

Smooth aroma followed by a unique combination of light hops. Overall I really liked this while sampled at the brewery. Great spicy starter beer.

Nice fruity/hop aroma, and suitable body. Lots of hops for a Kolsch, but it’s Three Floyds, so what do you expect. I think they could’ve toned down the hop bite, but overall it’s still a good brew.
