Lots of hops for a Kolsch, but it’s Three Floyds, so what do you expect. I think they could’ve toned down the hop bite, but overall it’s still a good brew. Cornfield (4978), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 1, 2009 On tap at the brewpub: It poured a deep golden body with a sustained off-white head that provided much lace. The aroma was grainy and bready with some grassy hops. Tasted much the same with notes of old honey. Okay. BBB63 (4274), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 7, 2006 On tap: Finally got to try this as the last two times I was in there were problems with the kegs or so I was told. Looks nice with a coppery hue topped by a frothy head and produced very good lacing. The aroma has notes of vanilla wafers, herbal and grassy hops, crab-apple, plastic, diacetyl, and yeast esters...hum? The taste was sweet and fruity with a Vienna like malt character finishing with mild noble hop bitterness which led to an acidic aftertaste. Additionally I got some butterscotch and metallic off-flavors which makes me believe that something is wrong once again with this brew. The mouth feel is not as crisp or refreshing as I would have liked, too syrupy and harsh. This is just not too style (not that ever mattered with FFF) and in this case it should be, disappointing. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Poured clear, lighter orangey-golden with a sticky cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up soft, toasty bread and grainy notes with accents of grassy character and some mis-placed sourness. The flavor had a bready base with lemon zest, grassy bitterness, and a pinch of honey around.. finished with more of the aforementioned sourness and grainy bitterness. Crisp and light-bodied on the palate.. refreshing, but the sourness just didn’t strike a good chord with me. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2008 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated and a good lacing. The mild aroma was malty and dirty sock. The mild crisp mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The smooth malty quafable flavor contained crisp notes of butter malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider buying again. shrubber85 (3006), Wallhalben, Germany

Slightly sweet malt flavor with moderate hops present throughout. Hops flavor much more up front than is typical for the style but gives this one more body and works well. Another great 3F brew. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 18, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy orangey blonde color with a thin white head. Decent aroma and flavor of hay and citrus with an astringent finish. The body is light and oily while the carbonation is soft. Well done for a not too exciting style.
