TPaliga (212), Munster, Indiana, USA Dec 13, 2006 Nice malty beer. Pours brown with medium head. Sweet and malty flavor. Sublte cocoa and nuts. Light body and really drinkable. holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 28, 2006 On tap @ FFF: Dark brown color with a nice tan head. Chocolate aromas a little roast although they aren’t too strong. Chocolate and roast domintate the flavor as well, definitely baker’s chocolate that dry almost chalky chocolate with a nuttyness and a chocolate roast bitter finish. Pretty tasty for a brown, although i wish it had a little bigger body. BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Nov 26, 2006 Tap at brewpub: Hazy brown with a small frothy head and very good lace. Wow, a surprisingly hoppy nose backed by caramel, walnut, apple, juicy fruit, and grapefruit vapors. The flavor is fruity and chewy with a lot of malt background brfore a heavy (for a brown ale) bite. Finishes with a hint of mocha and nut. The mouth feel is resiny and dry with some snap on the finish. I liked it, not normal for sure. deadington (9), USA does not count Nov 11, 2006 this is a GREAT beer... this is my first rating too ... i’ll try to do well.... soooo sweeeet and tasty..... arrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh..... 8% alcohol, and is soooo sweeeeet and tasty!!!!!!!! arrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh (did i say that already?) sorry, just had a 120 min. ipa and a dreadnaught...... RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 10, 2006 No boring brown ale here! This one has a deep rich brown pour with medium tan head that lingers throughout. Very roasty flavors pervade...mostly chocolate and nuts, oh yeah...and a ton of PNW hop bitterness. Citrusy hop zest was a big surprise in whay usually is a very bland style. Quite well hidden ABV...I would have guessed more in the 5.5% range. Very nicely done. tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Nov 10, 2006 Updated: Dec 28, 2006On tap at the brewbup. Pours and orangey brown with lots of dry hop haze, and a bit of white head. Aroma is typical for FFF. Buckets of Amarillo and Simcoe? Some light nuttiness. Same with the flavor. Just a shit ton of hops with some nuts and chocolate as it warms. Pretty easy to drink with along bitter finish. I personally would like a bit more brown ale charcter. Alway a pleasre to try a new FFF brew though. jsquire (2086), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 8, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Dark reddish amber color beer with a big frothy beige head. Malty nose with hints of chocolate. Very smooth beer with a light body given the ABV. The taste is dominated by dusty bitter chocolate, with some raw grain and bready notes, and an almost cherry sweetness. It has the standard Three Floyds hop profile, but it is more subdued. You get chocolate burps instead of hop burps. I wish I could try the brown without the chocolate. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 28, 2006 This was my first brown type ale and was very happy. It had malts and roasted oats roasted in their very own ovens.I had one sample and would like to try more .Alcohol is well hidden and beer is very smooth to the finish
