It’s a little hard to pick out the smell, I’ll just call it a suitable beer aroma, actually light on the hops. Hops in the beer are much more restrained than in the typical 3F, perhaps with a touch of lemon citrus (liquid hops? that might be the reson). Malts are relatively light in roast for an IPA, but still leave a of sticky on the beak. Driftwood6 (214), USA

It doesn’t blow you away with hoppy freshness like Alpha King or Dreadnaught. It had a bit of a funny aftertaste-- maybe a touch too much bittering hops. Overall, not impressive at all, especially side by side with a fresh Alpha King. MoDog (923), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2007 On tap at FFF. Pours a cloudy golden color with a small diminishing head. Aroma is hops and grapefruit. Medium body. Taste is citrus and caramel with a decent bitter finish. Overall, a good IPA, but it has some stiff competition at this brewery. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 5, 2007 I feel like I’m biased now...Regular IPA’s just don’t seem to cut it anymore...it’s almost got to be a DIPA to really catch my attention. Maybe it was just the beer. Orange colour with a big white head. Not a whole lot in the aroma. The flavour has a large backing of malts with some citrus hops thrown in. As mojuck says, it’s very balanced. It just didn’t catch my attention. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA

Light malt aroma--not much hops really. Medium to full for an IPA. Orange in color with a decent head. Nice caramel malt flavor, citrus tastes, and hops behind it all. Nice balance--that’s right, you heard me. Remember that this is not a double or imperial, and I think that helps. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2007 On tap @ 3F DLD. Pours a hazy amber orange with a small head. Hops, yeast and citrus fill my nose to remind me of ..... dare I say cat piss. Citrus and carmel balance each other out in the flavor with some bitterness. Decent beer. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
