Commercial Description:
Our take on a traditional Berliner weiss. A slightly tart and refreshing wheat beer, low in alcohol and often served with a flavored syrup.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in an Orval glass with no flavoring. Hazy spritzy light copperish color. Not really aroma to speak of. Very faint lactic. The flavor had a slight sour/tart character, but not much else. Not going to mess with this on again. Barnaby did give me a sample of this with Pina Colada flavoring in it. That was strange.

At the brewpub, DL Day!!! I was a bit taken back when Nick Floyd asked for a "flavor". I have never had this style before. My friend blurted out "cherry" and that is what we got. While I can’t complain I wish I would have gotten a staright berliner weisse to see what it was all about. I had never had this style before and it had an overwhelming cherry wheat flavor to it.

On draught at the pub day before DL release. Aroma was light citrus. Poured a hazy copper. Flavor wasn’t very deep a light citric and tartness. Palate was thin but crisp. Overall it was ok.

Draft at 3F on Dark Lord Day. Medium frothy, fizy off-white head that mostly diminished. decent lacing, hazy, carbonated, and a light orange hue. Sweet, fruity, citrus and tart nose. Flavor was not all that great-sweet, acidic, bitter, sour, tart, fruity, and citrus. Sour and tart palate. Medium body.

Handed to me by someone at Dark Lord Day. Light amber body with a fast fading white head. No appreciable aroma or flavor for that matter. Should have taken the syrup.

Draught at brewpub. Lagerish aroma that’s not really sour like I expected. Hazy, light copper with a huge off-white head. Nice lace. Was offered syrup...declined. Not strongly sour like Schultheiss Berliner Weiss. More drinkable by a lot but not nearly as tart, and as such, not as much to style. Not a great beer, and one I wouldn’t order again because of its innocuousness, but drinkable, unlike some others in the style.

Draft...DLD06... Clear, light yellow ale with a mid-sized, white head. No aroma; no flavor. I came up with absolutely nothing. Well-balanced (like seltzer) and light bodied. Thin, watery mouthfeel with fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. I was expecting some degree of sourness, but it was nowhere to be found. Refreshing, but not really brewed to style.
