Commercial Description:
Our take on a traditional Berliner weiss. A slightly tart and refreshing wheat beer, low in alcohol and often served with a flavored syrup.

Hazy and caramel brown in color with a grey ice sheaf pocked with a few breaking bubbles. Fruity appetency with some raspberries and boysenberries dancing with old lady perfume, semi-arousing the nose in a sick-sort-of way. Sour cherry tract and squished pomegranate kernels take care of a caramel lozenge sweetening, and it then transpires over into the flavor. Cold, fizzy and a bit begging. Raspberries reappear, along with a lemon-buttered crème character and a thinning lemon seltzer motif. A touch of sour acidity, but generally mired like the dust at the bottom of a Sour Patch Kids candy bag. Lavender and raspberries surmise a sweet suckle finish that’s generally a reduction of what appeared earlier in the flavor.

I had this one on tap at the brewpub. Overall a surprisingly unremarkable, but not bad, brew. Pours a basic golden color and had a moderate head. I took the bartender’s suggestion and had some cheery flavoring added. Frankly the extra flavor was the only reason to drink it. Without it its a generic wheat-ish beer with some citrus going on....nothing to write home about. I may be overly critical though given the quality I see out of most 3F brews.

I kept waiting for that sour flavor to hit me, comparing it to the only other Berliner Weisse that I’ve had a few times, but it never happened. It seemed more like an American wheat, Wheaties with a soft malt flavor, albeit with a slightly tart, citric finish. Probably better in hot weather.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a yellow/orange with a moderate white head. Citrus, yeast, and some light hop notes in the finishes. After having many a better brew this day I found this a bit boring.

Thanks to hezron for sharing some of his at Dark Lord Day. I picked up hints of sour wheat and bananas in a cloudy yellow body with a hoppy aroma. Tasting it, I found much of the same. This kind of disappointed me as most 3F beers have been outstanding but it was not the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. I would certainly not try it again if other things were on tap at the brewpub though.

Not even remotely true to style. But drinkable nonetheless, with citrus zestiness and lightly acidic sourness. A moderate "wheaty" profile with cut grass and lemon notes. This is somewhat of a disappointment to someone like me who was hoping for a 3F take on the style, but came up with a pale and timid impersonation instead.

Poured a dark golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, yeast, vanilla, and citrus fruits. Taste of apricot, peaches, some lacto, grains, and a tart finish.

On tap at the brewery. Banana and clove aroma with a slight sourness, but mostly just like a hefe. Cloudy, straw-yellow with a thick, white head. Soft banana and spice flavor with some citrusy notes and an earthy sourness in the finish. Light body, easy to drink and soft carbonation.
