Commercial Description:
Our take on a traditional Berliner weiss. A slightly tart and refreshing wheat beer, low in alcohol and often served with a flavored syrup.

Draft...DLD06... Clear, light yellow ale with a mid-sized, white head. No aroma; no flavor. I came up with absolutely nothing. Well-balanced (like seltzer) and light bodied. Thin, watery mouthfeel with fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. I was expecting some degree of sourness, but it was nowhere to be found. Refreshing, but not really brewed to style.

I kept waiting for that sour flavor to hit me, comparing it to the only other Berliner Weisse that I’ve had a few times, but it never happened. It seemed more like an American wheat, Wheaties with a soft malt flavor, albeit with a slightly tart, citric finish. Probably better in hot weather.

On tap at the brewpub. The aroma was dark gold that was nearly light amber. The head was white and foamy. The aroma was fresh and fruity with apples and strawberries. There was also sour cherries and apple core with hay dryness. This had a smooth light body. I also tried with the cherry syrup which made this more mild.

On tap at Brewpub and served in a chalice, NO FLAVORING ADDED: Hazy amber with a light fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of sour lemon, wheaty and yeasty esters, and a grassy notes. The flavor has a tart bite with an aggressive carbonation but hardly over-the-top. Very wheaty and grainy back end. Surprisingly smooth and maybe too much as i expected something more sour. The palate is quite lively and refreshing, nice summer bier. Okay all told but not something I would go for again.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that was long lasting and left behind a hazy uncarbonated orange brown colored body and a very good thick lacing. The mild aroma was malty astringent and dough. with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and dough. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

Poured a dark golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, yeast, vanilla, and citrus fruits. Taste of apricot, peaches, some lacto, grains, and a tart finish.

Draft at 3F on Dark Lord Day. Medium frothy, fizy off-white head that mostly diminished. decent lacing, hazy, carbonated, and a light orange hue. Sweet, fruity, citrus and tart nose. Flavor was not all that great-sweet, acidic, bitter, sour, tart, fruity, and citrus. Sour and tart palate. Medium body.

Tap (without syrup). Slightly sour wheat aroma. Cloudy dark amber color with moderate head. Slightly sour wheat aroma with the merest hint of berry. Nice body. Not as sour as its Berlin brethren but a nice beer.
