Drank at Three Floyd’s Brewing Company during the 2007 Dark Lord Day: The nose was filled with bananas, milk chocolate and spice. In the mouth it was rich, had solid weight and great texture. This is a beer I could drink anytime of year, from a hot summer day to a cold winter night. I sure hope they bottle a beer like this! Or, at least I get to try it again.

muddy brown, lasting beige head, streaks of lace, sweet chocolate and banana aroma, lots of rich chocolate flavor and plenty of sweet banana, light earthy essence keeps the sweetness reined in but end up growing until it starts being a detraction,

Weird (bit fun) experiment here...Wheat-like characteristics...grassiness/banana/clove, etc...layered on top of a pretty sweet chocolatey malt base. Takes a little getting used to, but I really started to enjoy this as I got to the bottom of my glass.

On tap at the brewery Dark Lord Weekend. Muddy dark brown body under a long lasting off-white head. Complex aromas of Chocolate, spice, banana. The flavor is spicy with plenty of clove coming through that follows into the finish. Full bodied, rich and smooth. Dangerously drinkable.

On tap. Pours a murky brown with a rather large off-white head. Kinda heavy with notes of banana, yeast, fruit and chewinggum.

On tap at the brewery. Dark murky brown color with a nice head. Aroma is malt and yeast with some tones of fruitiness. They serve it quite cold, which makes the beer hit you as malty with some banana and yeast. As it warms it gets more character and has some more fruity tones and becomes lightly bitter. Very similar to the Schneider Aventitus. Though I have to say I think this is probably better, more malt and more yeasty fruit. Well worth the trip.

@ 3F’s A hazed brown pour with a light brown head. A rich raisiny aroma and a lot of yeastiness as well. A nice malty taste wigh a yeast kicker and a slight bitter finish. A slightly thin finish but excellent carbonation. An excellent drinker, a beer that continues to expand on the palate as it nears the bottom of the glass.

Draught. At the brewpub. Murky opaque ruby-brown with a small head. Sweet bready yeast/malt aroma, plenty of banana, clove and chocolate - quite sweet, smelled more like a dessert than a brew. Mild, slightly burnt caramel malt flavour, incredibly restrained light perfumey hops for TF, mostly just a mishmash of clove/yeast/banana with some cocoa powder bitterness - odd, but actually not bad. Sugary, syrupy mouthfeel, only lightly carbonated, with a mouth-coating almost candied fruit sweetness that lasts a long time. Not really my thing, but nice enough, and an interesting change of pace from my experience of TF beers (but onward! bring on the hops!!!)
