Unexpected smoky nose (and taste). Seems more like a blended wheat beer with a bock, with the same complexity and contrast of characteristics. Banana taste indeed over a chocolate malt. Once I get my nose into the glass, I a distinct impression of river water. Kind of throws one off the enjoyment. presario (2983), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Aromas are sweet toasted malts and some fruit. Flavor is definately a bit of chocolate and banana. A bit sweet. Medium body. Very smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Worth a try if your in the mood for something different. Driftwood6 (214), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2007 On tap at 3F brewpub. This one tasted pretty close to style for a weizen bock. Sweet and malty-- but not quite to the level of a dopplebock. I think I still prefer the Schneider Aventinus on tap, but this is a good attempt by 3F to try something new. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 9, 2007 On tap at the pub. Murky brown liquid with a whispy beige head that was accompanied by a lasting ring of big bubbles around the edge. Soft puffed wheat nose with banana and yeast. There are lots of the traditional banana and clove flavors, but all wrapped in chocolate, Super Sugar Crisp cereal and toffee sweetness. The cloves are joined with nutmeg and cinnimon. It coats the mouth with malt syrup and my lips were sticky. The 7.4% is noticable but not intrusive. Very nice beer. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2007 On tap @ FFF on DLD. Pours a murky brown with a beige head. Nose is nothing great bannana, carmel, bakers chocolate and yeast. The flavors are the same but a little too sweet too. The palate is creamy smooth, but that’s all that I am into with this. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
