Courtesy of TampaBrew. Pours deep mahogany with thin off white head. The aroma is musty malts, sticky wood, black licorice and faint booze. The taste is smooth and even with roasty malts playing against dark wood notes and a sense of dark fruity esters, toffee and molasses. It ends with a bit of hoppy bitterness. Smooth tasty brew. Yum!

Unfotunately, I didn’t take detailed notes on this one. I was pretty disappointed with this collaboration. It lacked the extreme personality of 3F and lacked the DFH character. Very disappointed.

Not the greatest 3 Floyds or DFH beer, but I still think it’s a decent beer. However, I do agree with the others that it is very similar to the palo santo maroon... a kind of watered down version of it though. I’d go with the palo santo any day.

Ugly brown. Kind of muddy. Toffee nose isn’t very appetizing. Toffee body with lots of wood. It’s a somewhat lame strong beer with no discernable character other than the palo santo and I don’t find that the underlying structure is either attractive on its own or in combination with the wood.

Bottle shared with oakes and beershine. Brown pour. Fruit, hops and wood. Flavor is wayyyy to much like the DFH Palo Santo. This one is all DFH and not much FFF. Bummer.

Poured dark brown with thick head. Aroma is wood, roast, some spice and floral hops. Flavor is much of the same with very pronounced wood. Good beer, GREAT label. I’d take the Palo Santo over this one though.
