2009-07-31. Very dark brown body with a foamy brown head that fades. toasty brown malt, sweet undertones. Flavour has light woody overtones, sweet fruity malt, light bitterness and alcohol that warms the throat and lingers in the finish. (7+) Average plus bodied palate. Pretty solid, and glad to have the chance to try it! Bottle at BCTC 2009, shared by Rudolf

22oz bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a frothy tan head. Aroma is rather sweet (caramel, maple syrup, and malts). Taste is quite subtle: balanced roasted malts and bitter hops with molasses, dark fruit, and a touch of smoke. Expected a bit more "pop" in this one. High ABV is very well concealed. Interesting and highly drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of Allstar on 07/18/2009. Clear dark brown body with ruby highlights and a small frothy off-white head. Big roast and molassas aroma with some chocolate notes. Sweet chocolate and roast flavor, some light molassas notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle at BCTC 2009: Deep brown pour with a wispy tan head. Big malty aroma- some brown sugar notes and a big crystal malt presence as well as light cocoa. Slick big body. Rounded flavor- sweet but not syrupy. Flavors of toasted brown sugar and raisins. Some residual crystal malt with a mild resiny finish. Not bad, not great.

Bomber. Pours a dark mahogany brown color, showing glints of chestnut translucency at the edges. A small head of khaki colored foam settles quickly to a thin film with a skinny edge. Minimal dots of lacing mark the glass. The nose is really impressive, showing a chocolate milk like malt base, with caramel, figs, and cream. Peppery wood notes come through, along with some vanilla and cinnamon, all balanced by some mildly earthy hops. Flavors are similar, strong on lightly spicy, vanilla laden wood, with heaps of dark fruit malts and creamy, chocolaty lactose. Excellent balance, as a bit of roast comes through on the back end. Medium-full bodied, smooth, and easy drinking despite the big ABV. This one pretty much reminds me of Palo Santo Marron toned down a bit. Really good stuff.

Dark mahogany pour with garnet highlights along its border and a small but creamy latte head. Aroma was cocoa, caramel, dark fruit and roasted malt. Full-flavored with some molasses, maple, and brown sugar accompanying dominant chocolate. Nice thick mouthfeel. Nice.

Bman shared a lot of good brews at Stone Sourfest. This was one. Burnt brown and crystal clear with big champagne bubbles. Nose is caramel and malt. Sweet and spicy. Lotsa carbonation in the mouth, with flavors of brown sugar and booze. Taste is sweet and caramel and roasted malt.
