| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Thanks to TearsforBeers, my Secret Santa, for the bottle! Transparent amber with a small white head. Nose is rather plain: grapefruit, pine, slight caramel. Flavor is bitter yet also sweet, lots of sugary caramel and malt lingering through the finish to balance the bitter citrus notes. Slight alcohol throughout. Mouth is quite thin, sticky. Overall pretty standard. If refined, bursting hop flavors are what you seek, there are better IIPAs.

Smell – Glory. American hops, particularly citrusy cascades everywhere.
Taste – delicious delicious hop oil. This is the best. HUGE citrusy hops with a balancing sweet malt backbone.
Mouthfeel – thick and sticky, though only about half as much so as Dark Lord.
Overall – this is the king of the IPA’s I’ve tried. Fantastic.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2008 A very good IPA.
The beer is cloudy, but clears as it warms. It has little head and some lacing. Big grapefruit and piney aroma.
The taste is great, big malt, big hops and big booze.
