Transparent amber with a small white head. Nose is rather plain: grapefruit, pine, slight caramel. Flavor is bitter yet also sweet, lots of sugary caramel and malt lingering through the finish to balance the bitter citrus notes. Slight alcohol throughout. Mouth is quite thin, sticky. Overall pretty standard. If refined, bursting hop flavors are what you seek, there are better IIPAs.

Dec 24, 2008 22oz bottle from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a fairly clear dark amber to copper color with a one finger off-white head that settles slowly but still provides lacing on the glass. Aroma is floral and sweet with notes of hops, citrus, grapefruit, citrus, honey and hints of toffee. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of citrus and hops, grapefruit, honey, caramel, and hints of spice. Generally medium body with a hoppy finish.

Dec 22, 2008 Bottle. Copper pour with a nice white head, dissipates quickly to a thin froth. Aroma is a wonderful strong hoppy with a hint of citrus. Flavor is of strong hops with a touch citrus and some pine. Fairly heavy on the alcohol compared to other IPAs. Palate is well-balanced.

Dec 20, 2008 Trade with mattf311. Thanks. Pours Golden copper with a nice white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of fresh hops and floral with citrus. Flavor is pretty bitter with a sweet malt finish. Full bodied and resiny. Best bottle I have had.

Dec 14, 2008 Pours hazy yellow amber – 3/5
Smell – Glory. American hops, particularly citrusy cascades everywhere.
Taste – delicious delicious hop oil. This is the best. HUGE citrusy hops with a balancing sweet malt backbone.
Mouthfeel – thick and sticky, though only about half as much so as Dark Lord.
Overall – this is the king of the IPA’s I’ve tried. Fantastic.

Dec 14, 2008 A very good IPA.
The beer is cloudy, but clears as it warms. It has little head and some lacing. Big grapefruit and piney aroma.
The taste is great, big malt, big hops and big booze.

Dec 12, 2008 bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. poured an orange color with a white head. aroma of floral hops and butter. the butter could of been from the previous beer sampled. flavor of some good citrus and excellent hop use. a great IIPA
