garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 22, 2008 Shared with HogTownHarry - Harrys bottle (a super fresh bottle) THANKS SO MUCH HARRY!!!! Murky amber, some yeast floaties, white head... Aroma: Pine and grapefruit, lemon, corriander(?) just so impressive. Flavour: So much going on! Yeehaw, candy floss, pine, grapefruit... oh did I mention hops? Well they are in there proud and loud, superb. Thanks Harry. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Orange color. Grapefruit, mint and lime in the lovely aroma. Very fiorm oily, earthy and flowery, somewhat perfumed hopbitter flavor. Long oily grapefruity, hopbitter aftertaste with rubber. Good beer, especially the aroma convinces. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA Apr 20, 2008 this is an amazing beer. flavor is all tropical fruit, floral, nice malt sweetness. alcohol is definately there, but understated. just wonderful... hellbilly (1502), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Apr 20, 2008 thanks to boltz7555 for bringing this gem to the PHX local 666 meeting... pours an amber color mixed with orange-brown topped with a whitish head. floral aroma is packed with sweet caramel grains, grapefruit and a touch of pine... very simple and straight forward. the flavor is very similar and simple with a rather dry and tart citrus finish. this is greatly appreciated since my palate is bombarded by sugar the entire time! medium to full bodied but somehow not sticky. oily texture. far too sweet to be enjoyed. albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Apr 18, 2008 Draught at the Map Room, Chicago. This rich, bitter beer has a complex floral and citrus aroma and a boozy flavour which is massively bitter with some soft fruit. Personally, I prefer the sticky sweetness of Goose Island Imperial IPA and Three Floyds’ own Alpha King, but this was very good nevertheless. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 16, 2008 Sampled at the Hellbilly Phoenix event. My first Three Floyd’s brew. Thanks BOLTZ7555! Pours a nice amber with a creamy light head. Lots of pine hops and grapefruit in the aroma. Nice sweet citrus malty flavor with a big hop finish. Very nice. ajm (903), Los Angeles, California, USA Apr 16, 2008 Updated: Jun 13, 2009That a beer as big as this manages to entirely eliminate the finish is remarkable, though it is the maltiest double IPA you’re likely to find. Great sweet orange notes with very floral qualities. No pine, peel or burn. Great work, Nick! AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Apr 14, 2008 22oz - Last of my Indy trip stash. Light tan head over hazy gold liquid. Hops, booze and cloves on nose. Sweet, minty palate. Different in a good way, but a little to sweet for the style.
