Davinci (295), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 8, 2008 Updated: Apr 23, 2008Pours a beautiful amber honey color. Wonderfully clear with a sparkling white head. Smells of the most wonderful hops, floral and spicey with earthy notes to boot. Flavor is sweet with huge citrus hops flavor but without the astringency of many high AA beers. Finishes sticky and pleasantly bitter with lingering citrus notes. A wonderful hop profile makes this beer one of my personal favorites. I cant get enough from 3F. Thanks for the great work guys. JAXSON (229), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 8, 2008 Many, many fresh bottles consumed of this highest of worthies. Nose is breathtaking, brings you into a lush forest of pines, persimmons, and peahens. Explosions of grapefruit rind mingle with bright, vibrant pinecones and soft, light fruits to weave a delicious tapestry of a mysterious dream. Fresh indian spices seem to soar somewhere near the top, electric and exciting. Further underneath is a soft caramel and a quiet weeping. Vibrant, exciting, transcendent, and worthy of the highest respects and most solemn honors. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Feb 6, 2008 Pours a transluscent orange colour with a thin creamy off-white head. Some black particulates have settled to the bottom of the glass and ample lacing is left after the pour. The nose is an intoxicating blend or rich caramel, tropical fuit (mostly the advertised peach and mango), grapefruit citrus and spicy rye flake? The IBU’s and abv are both well displayed in the aroma. The flavour is citric, spicy, and fragrant with ultra-bitter resin-like hops, peppery/citric zest, caramel, passion fruit and sugar. This is one of the most complex hoppy beers I’ve ever encountered. So tasty! The finish is long and dry, leaving a lingering of peaches, pine needles and a peppery alcoholic bite. The mouthfeel is creamy, full-bodied and finished sticky. emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Feb 6, 2008 Thanks alot Brent for shipping this up to me, cheers. This is a rather unique brew, it has a spicy aromato it. the color is prety standard, a cloudy redish orange color with soe yeast particles in it. But the nose is so different it has a rye and pepper spice with hints of light fruits. the flavor is just as unique and good as the nose. With sewwt caramel bitterness on the tip of your tounge followed by a peppery finish. You can also really taste those light citrus fruits in the aftertaste but that pepper never fades which is really nice. I really like this finish to this is is swwet yet has that kick to keep you wanting more, Great job Three Floyds. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Feb 4, 2008 Celebration beer after my Giants pulled off the stunning upset over the *Patriots in SuperBowl XLII. Pours a perfect cloudy orange color with slight hints of amber. Not much of a head here, but a quick swirl of the tulip releases some bubbles and allows the lacing to stick to the sides. A huge floral hop aroma with hard hitting citrusy fruits, mangos, apricots and brown sugar. I was blown away by the perfect flavor here...mangos, peaches, oranges, citrusy hops, caramel and some spice. A dry, bitter finish. I rank this as the best IIPA I have tasted, simply outstanding. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Feb 3, 2008 Thanks a lot Daniel/TheCheeseMan for this very nice beer. It’s dark orange-golden with a red hue and a small head. The aroma is wonderfully hoppy with notes of oranges, pine needles, apricot, papaya and mango. The flavour has a smooth bitterness and is very complex and fruity. I find notes of papaya, mango, oranges, caramel and a light sweetness - it’s not easy to describe the balance, it seems so perfect. The finish has a slightly dry grapefruit note.
BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Feb 2, 2008 Surprising amber color, very hoppy nose. An IPA for hop lovers. Extremely well balanced and smooth. Minds me of a better version of dogfish heads 90 min. IPA. Very sweet flavor. No lacing, extremely small white head. Thick beer, syrupy. bleeng (587), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA Feb 2, 2008 Bomber. Dark gold with no head. Super hop bomb nose-dry hop on the finish. Smooth body with an over the top hop flavo. Syrupy and very sweet. Well done beer but not real subtle. Hop monster good for it’s style.
