ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 20, 2007 Updated: Aug 22, 2007I wish I could get this on the regular! Thanks to miketd for the 650 ml bottle! pours copper with minimal head and lacing. plenty of bubbles rising to the filmy surface. it has a pleasent papaya odor. this very complex and balanced starts of bitter and has a slighty sweet acidic finish that is close to perfect. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Aug 19, 2007 Bottle, Chris o shindig. Copper, smallish white head. A very 3 Floyd’s aroma: melon, musk, mint, faded orange peal. Full chewy hop flavor. Good, though I think not quite at it’s best. I bought this bottle many months back, and while it’s been kept well, this certainly is not a beer to improve with age. Just couldn’t justify opening it alone. BigJeffHead (7), McLean, Virginia, USA does not count Aug 17, 2007 Beautiful IIPA, great balance between malt/hops, with great pine and citrus tones. Sweeeeet. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Aug 17, 2007 Updated: Nov 5, 2007Poured a cloudy orange and copper color with a nice creamy off-white head that lingered and offered up good lacing. The aroma was the expected citrus and pine notes along with some softer fruits (that I’ll assume are the mango and peach notes). The flavor was citrus, malt, pine and butter. A tad too much butter flavor came through on this one for me. Not the buttery caramel that’s often talked about, more land o’lakes butter. Great mouthfeel with barely a hint of alcohol noticed. MaxxDaddy (261), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Aug 13, 2007 Bomber courtesy of my Secret santa (thanks!). Poured a beautiful orange color with traces of white head. Beautiful aroma of piney and grapefruity hops. Even my brother, the non-beer drinker thought it smelled great. The taste didn’t quite echo the hoppiness I was expecting, though it was still pretty good. Some caramel maltiness up front followed by grapefruity hops in the back. Really tasty. Finish was bitter and smooth, without much carbonation. For a beer that was 9.5%, this went down extremely easily for me, which gave it some extra points. If this bottle wasn’t fresh, then I may be in for a real treat should I find a fresh bottle. Really glad I got to try a very-well regarded beer such as this one, and I wasn’t disappointed at all. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 13, 2007 Updated: Dec 27, 2007Bottle Chris o Shindig. Amber, thin white head. Great aroma of piney hops. Some tea flavour in the mouth. A lot better than I was expecting. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 11, 2007 Orange body (call it tangerine), small off-white head, citric hoppy nose with some sweetness. Body is firmly sweet with substantial hop bitterness and grapefruity citric notes. Excellent mouthfeel, balanced, hides the alcohol well. jhliesen (403), West Melbourne, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2007 Bottle-Hazy golden, copper color with a medium fuzzy head. The drink left copious amounts of lacing. The aroma had the typical citrusy, hoppy smell. The taste was citrus and hops, the palate had the hoppy, oily feel to it.
