The pour reveals an attractive clear golden color with a medium white head. Superb aroma of fruity hops accompanied by some sturdy malt. The flavor is amazing, the hops are strong, assertive and feel fruity (mangos, peaches, citrus), but this beer isn’t just about hops, there’s a sturdy malt backbone that gives balance to this gem, I like the balance in this beer and I also like that the alcohol is not present, the whole ride finishes with a strong and lasting bitterness. The body has a light to medium thickness with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. It was well worth the whole trip from Montreal to sample this amazing beer on tap, I would do it again any time. Dogbrick (2901), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 8, 2004 This beer deserves all of the praise it has gotten. Pours a bright and clear orange-amber color with a medium thin and frothy off-white head. Thin and quick lacing. Heady aroma of flowery hops (duh) along with some citrus. Rich and smooth with a great hops kick that never becomes overpowering. There is enough of an undercurrent of malt to make this easily drinkable despite the abundance of hops, and that is exactly the right idea. The finish is crisp and has long, lingering hops with some spice. They don't get much better than this. Glouglouburp (2877), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Aroma is intensely citrusy with some pine-tree juice notes. Smooth yet very full bodied. Over-the-top hopping that somehow manages to never be aggressive. Medium extra-flavourfull bitterness. Mostly citrusy with some grapefruit and piney flavours. Alcohol is well hidden. Very very classy. I’m not sure why I gave it “only” a 4.5 on my first tasting. Now I’m going with the flow and rating it as my top IIPA. Dreadnaught not dreadful. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2005 Full hoppy nose, with some malt as well, hazy orange, pours a good sized, short lived custard head, leaves some pretty lace. Flavour is quite hoppy to start, lots of orange and pine, nice malt level too. Well balanced. full bodied, zingy from the hops, fairly bitter. Terrific!! Thanks so much wohlfs and qdog. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 11, 2005 Finally, after searching for this brew throughout the universe, thanks a ton to batkins for this amazing brew. This brew is all that its cracked up to be, really impressive. And I thought my homebrew clone was good, well this thing blows it out of the water. This thing has a ton of sweet citrus hops, very crisp smelling. Taste starts with a buttery smooth sweetness, fading nicely to balance it all out with a beautiful display of hoppiness. Crisp citrus hops, not overly bitter, but just right, very even tasting brew. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2003 Pretty strong alcohol burn but it's sort of concealed. Anyway, it's a helluva hoppy IPA that's just not really something I'd enjoy drinking on a regular basis. Surprisingly found on tap in NYC (Blind Tiger). Copper-colored in the glass and ordinary to look at. What's the fuss. after4ever (2822), Brier, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2006 Bomber--thanks, BeachBum25! Pours an almost neon orange; easily the most remarkable color I’ve seen in a beer. Towering off white head, decent lace. Enormous sweet sticky citric fruity nose. The attack and the mid-palate are almost roastily bitter with resinous hop. This seems to have every conceivable hop category mized into one: citric, piney, resinous, even bits and pieces of herb and spice. No earth, so I guess you can’t say it’s the esperanto of hopping, but it’s pretty close. Malt’s there, kind of the silent partner. Great stuff, but that first wallop of flavor’s a doozy. Impossible to prepare yourself for. riversideAK (2792), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 17, 2007 There really is a mango/peach aroma but I had to search for it behind the intense pine. Pours red/orange with no real head to speak of. Flavor is intense pine followed by the sweet afformentioned fruit. Super unique. I get pine, not citrus. This shit is good. Pretty balanced too. Very dry. Resin coats your mouth after every sip. Damn good beer.
