Commercial Description:
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

This beer came out of the Midwest?! Tastes like NW hops. Very valuable beer for Indianians. After several bomby beauties, I was pleased to try this hazy orange colored brew. Bottle conditioned and worthy to stand beside any West Coast beer. This beer has been rated 100 on this site for a while, and rightfully so! Boo yah! If you like this , you owe it to yourself to try Moylan’s Hopsickle, Mad River Double IPA, or the uber-awesome Fish Tail Ten Squared

Huge aoma and flavor of citrus hops(Chinook/Cascades/Centennial).Bitter yet balanced well with a good malt character. The smoothest Imperial IPA I have had to date.

Tap at the pub: Golden pour, decent head. Bright citrusy hop aromas. Get some malt off the start of the flavor but then bitter hops kick in on the tail end leading to a nice finish. Mostly citrusy hops, a hint of pine in there as well. I also had a 2003 sample at the Vintage Ale Fest. Ugh, still had some of the aroma, but everything in the flavor was long gone.

Hazy orange pour with a lasting creamy beige head atop. Smell is nice and aromatic with big fruity, citrusy hops in the nose. Taste was hopped but not nearly as much as expected and had strong notes of orange, peachiness to it. Candied bitter orange peel flavor to it. Much more balanced than expected. Decent body and a bitter orange finish. Mild alcohol presence but a very nicely drinkable IIPA. My rating will probably go up drinking this in more than a sample glass size at a time and looking forward to trying it again.

Beautiful amber colour. Huge hop aroma along with grapefruit, pine, and just a hint of apricot. Flavour is very hoppy, citrusy, lots of grapefruit and a little bit sweet. Finishes with a very long grapefruit bitterness that last for what seems forever. I wish that I had more of this but alas, I only had one. Many, many thanks to my friend Jokes for this one.

Bottle from Sprinkle. Lovely orange color with hints of amber. Aroma is very bitter and quite spicy. Some deep ancient redwood sap quality. Very bitter. Balanced though some sweet mandarin qualities. Very nice, very tasty.

A hazy amber baby with a smooth balance of hops and malt. A good example of how balance can make a high hopped beer with malt come together in excellence. If you ever wonder what balance means wrap your hands around this baby in your taster warm it up to about 60 and roll it around it your mouth. EXCELLENT. Much like a statement from the movie waynes world. "I’m not worhty".

Bottled from Growler: poured a nice reddish orange amber with a nice light tan head..the aroma was grapefruity with fresh hops..the flavor was a sweat grapefruity hoppiness..maybe a tad too sticky though..but this beer is big..and bitter..and sweet..im not sure that i can dig it as much as others though..but it is good...Re-Rate cask (RAF): oakchips and grapefruit aroma..big bitter backing behind chewy orange molassis..fruit cake..better than before..look forward to having this on draft someday as i hear that is its best avenue for consumption.
